According to a report from Variety, Clash of the Titans producer Basil Iwanyk is behind the project with Sam Worthington in the title role. However, a director and supporting cast has not yet been announced for the film.
Frank Hampson created Dan Dare, the gallant chief pilot of the Interplanet Space Fleet, back in 1950. The original Eagle comics were set in the then-futuristic 1990s. Virgin Comics brought Dare back as a 2008 miniseries penned by Garth Ennis. Dare has also been adapted for the radio, animated TV series, and videogames.
Dan Dare is often described as the British equivalent of Buck Rogers.
