"New Crews. New Villains. New Heroes. New Worlds." That's the tagline for the Star Trek TV series which will premiere on CBS Seed next year, and the first teaser and logo for the show can be found below. Bryan Fuller (who is currently adapting Neil Gaiman’s American Gods) is going to serve as showrunner and co-creator, and while plot details are being kept a closely guarded secret, we do at least know that the plan is for the series to introduce new characters and civilizations, existing outside of the mythology charted by previous Star Trek shows and the current big screen franchise.

This Star Trek TV series will launch in January 2017 on CBS All Access, the network’s digital subscription video on demand and live streaming service (there’s no word on an international broadcast).

Hmmmm. Naming it simply "Star Trek" (assuming that is to be the name) would seem like a good idea if it weren't for the fact that they already pulled that move with the 2009 (?) movie. As it is, doing it again, just seems like it will be unnecessarily confusing.

I've seen all the movies, but only a handful of episodes of the various shows, I think I'll definitely be checking this out though. Looking forward to it.

I hear they're making this an anthology series like Horror Story and True Detective that will jump around the timeline of the original series.

I like the Star trek movies as much as the next guy, but I don't think that concept can work on a TV show.

Tears, tears of joy and chillys in my willies.

Dig the concept of the Anthology show as well so each season i assumme it will be Star Trek:Timelines or something like that maybe a different subritle each season.

So excited sounds like theres alot of passion and respect to cannon and most importantly the fans.
