FIRST LOOK: See The Enterprise from J.J. Abrams Star Trek

Up until now, we've only been teased with partial shots, but NOW you can see a full image of the Federation's flagship starship, The Enterprise, as envisioned by director J.J. Abrams in his new Star Trek movie.

Although changed somewhat, Abrams was smart enough to not screw around with the iconic saucer shape on the original NCC-1701. It looks as though he took bits from both the old and new TV versions.

This from Abrams, “If you’re going to do Star Trek there are many things you cannot change. The Enterprise is a visual touchstone for so many people. So if you’re going to do the Enterprise, it better look like the Enterprise, because otherwise, what are you doing?”

The new Star Trek movie follows a young captain and crew of the USS Enterprise. And if you want to see the Enterprise in action this weekend, then go see the new James Bond flick "Quantum of Solace" where the first real trailer will be shown.

I am a trekkie, but I am ready to move on to something else. Hey, where is the Star Wars movie--ready to move on with that as well--Lets get passed Spock, Kirk, & Picard, Luke Skywalker, & DarthVader.

Now this is a welcoming sight for sore eyes!

Wow..this is really it. When I became a Trekker, I thought Star Trek was a thing of the past, and I never dreamed I would get to see a new movie. I especially never thought it would be a TOS flick of all things!

It was so sureal and amazing for me to see the U.S.S. Enterprise NCC 1701 technologically updated, but visually 'the same', that it brought tears to my eyes.

Peace and Long Life, Spock! So ready to see you and the others on the big screen for the first time (for me, anyways).

If he can revive the franchise after the Nemesis flop, it will definately be a feat.

Kirk, Spock and co had Star trek 1,2,3,4,5,6,7
Picard, Data and co had Star trek 7,8,9,10

The new movie is about Kirk and Spock again.

Its time to let DS9 have its own movie. I really think that generation was real good and it deserves a big screen motion picture.

Personally, I'm tired of both Star Trek and Star Wars. Something new indeed!

Oh yes, nemanja, I agree. DS9 had an amazing cast, and an incredible story arc. The whole political intrigue of the dominion war was an especially wonderful idea, and I loved watching Sisko play dirty to get the Romulans on their side. It was a very powerful episode.

Also, I love the cast of Voyager almost as much as I do The Original Series. I could do without 7 of 9 sometimes, but the characters of the EMH, Tuvok, Tom Paris, Janeway, and Neelix are very well-developed, and I wish I could see them in theaters as well as the DS9 cast.

Yeah a star wars about the early days of the republic. Even if I saw a movie about Ulic Qel Droma and Exar Kun made the same way as the Clone Wars movie I'd be happy. They could do that with every saga. Show us some Naga Sadow or some Mara Jade. Can you imagine a movie of Shadow's of the Empire? that would be hot.

Call me nostalgic but I miss the real Enterprise. this is way to stream lined and just doesn't feel right. I've watched every single Star Trek there is but did miss some episodes of ENT. so maybe I'm missing something here or maybe I'm just to old..lol

Being as old as I am they could have updated the ship without screwing it up, don't get me wrong it looks ok, but it is out of place against the TOS. The NX1701 was fine and they could have updated it like that. To show consistency. Non the less I will go see it, and yes I probably will complain about the mis ques...LOL
