Paramount has found a director for the fourth Star Trek movie - and it's not Quentin Tarantino!
Although the Pulp Fiction filmmaker's script is still being developed, the studio is planning a more direct follow-up to Star Trek Beyond first, and it looks like that'll be helmed by British filmmaker S.J. Clarkson (Dexter, Jessica Jones, The Defenders).
As previously rumoured, Star Trek 4 will see the return of Avengers: Infinity War actor Chris Hemsworth as Jim Kirk's dad. Apparently, the story revolves around the iconic Captain of The Enterprise (Chris Pine) "running into his father in a time travel ploy."
Zachary Quinto will also reprise the role of Spock, but there's no work on the rest of the crew just yet.
The script for Star Trek 4 is being written by J.D. Payne and Patrick McKay, with J.J. Abrams and Lindsey Weber producing through Bad Robot. David Ellison and Dana Goldberg of Skydance Media will executive produce.
