Star Wars: The Force Awakens includes a lot of great references and Easter Eggs, though one of the best comes when Finn inadvertently activates the holochess table used by Chewbacca and C-3PO in A New Hope. However, did you realise that the game picks up immediately where the one from that movie left off? The video below explores how Star Wars: The Force Awakens recreated the stop-motion animated sequence as Adam Savage takes us to Tippett Studio to watch them create it.

Folk still complaining about the anh/tfa parallels? You know that was the point of the film right? I consider it a soft reboot. Bring us back to what made it great and update it for a new generation. I loved it.

Nah it's the same guy desperate for attention, except now he's repeating the same ones adding one more generic comment because he's run out of parallels.

I'd be half tempted to post a list of things that were different but I think the point would be lost.

Seriously though, "a droid takes care of a young person".. R2 didn't take care of Luke, nor did BB-8 take care of Rey.

While you're at it, you left off, "Movie starts with opening scrawl.. Star Destroyer that pans down to a planet.. movie ends with same music and credits."

@rulk that's what im talking about these hollywood blockbuster types always trying to refresh the magic of the originals.at least with a good cbm the comics provide ample backstories to mine from and tap into but star wars only expanded into comics after the original trilogy blew up.ergo the only source material to which jj could stake his loyalty to was the originals (anh in this case).that's why i get mad when my favourite titles start developing a Hollywood influence in them because the comicbooks are superior.those elements outlined by @rulk are basically what makes star wars to be star wars.now enough star wars talk,onto the next REAL cbm on the 2016 roster

Great art form. Re-watching the old movies recently, in preparation for seeing this movie, I noticed that the stop-motion animation although charming, does look kind of hinky, and I think generally, on the whole, CGI when it's well done is great. FX have moved on in leaps and bounds, especially the kind of unobtrusive CGI that doesn't draw attention to itself and just looks totally real and natural. But even fantasy and s-f CGI is generally much better-looking on screen than the old fx.

The difficulty is getting actors to act naturally against a green screen. Some actors can do it, but it's a rare talent and most can't. So, there's no denying that physicality helps a lot - I think mainly because it helps actors.

Once actors are able to act against CGI in a VR outfit that also capture their acting an motions, then I think you'll see better acting against CGI.

No lie, Rulk is absolutely right. While there was surely a lot that I liked about the film, the writers were lazy to base the whole film on Episode IV's plot except with new characters: Anybody could've done that. It may not be a popular thing to say because fans really like the new movie but honestly, it's the truth.

And I don't mean to be a troll, just telling you all how I feel.

You guys do know that pretty much all modern blockbusters follow the exact same structure laid down in a book written years ago right?

Its called 'Save the cat' or something similar, kind of invalidates a lot of these 'it was too similar to ANH' complaints, especially when it being similar to ANH is kind of the point of the film....
