GOTG's Karen Gillan To Appear In STAR WARS VII... Well, Just Her Hair

Some members of Guardians of the Galaxy's massive ensemble cast had to do some extreme things in order to get ready to play their character, like how Chris Pratt had to lose some fat and get huge muscles quickly in order to play Star Lord. Karen Gillan had to do perhaps the most bizarre and unexpected thing however. She cut off her long beautiful hair right down to the last inch so that she could play the space pirate known as Nebula. Many fans loved that she was so dedicated to the role that she would do something so extreme. In an interview with Collider, Gillan was asked how she reacted when they were cutting off her hair, and if she was in tears during the process. “No, I was laughing hysterically. It really hit me when I woke up the next morning. That's when I was like, ‘Oh, my god, where's my hair?!’ But also, everyone kept me in good spirit. Everyone was laughing and telling jokes. Marvel are the best company to work for, they really are. They treat you really well. They made my hair into the most incredible well-made wig and they gave it to the Star Wars people. It's just so funny to think that my hair is made into a wig, next to all these Star Wars monster heads in a warehouse. I thought that was really funny.” Wait, what was that? What did she say about Star Wars? Apparently Karen Gillian's hair, just her hair, will feature in J.J. Abrams's Star Wars Episode VII in some form. We'll wait to see if there's much truth behind this and how exactly it will be featured, but for now just tune in for more. Catch Karen Gillan is Marvel's Guardians of the Galaxy which will be released in U.S. theaters on August 1st.

I would drag my dick through a field, riddled with land mines for a strand of that hair.

Head hair is overrated.
Where does she keep her shaved pubes?
Am I the only one who wants that info?
I apologize.

So, her hair is going solo, huh?

They better put "Karen Gillan's Hair" in the credits.

Well, I guess that's complete confirmation of Mara Jade (Skywalker? Or just Jade?).

I hope she returns in Avengers 3.

"Well, I guess that's complete confirmation of Mara Jade (Skywalker? Or just Jade?)."

This is EXACTLY what I assumed desperate fans would conclude when I saw the article.

@ruadh Well we're desperate, what do you expect?

But personally, I don't see this confirming jack about Mara being in Episode 7. If they have her in Episode 7, then that's great, if not, then no hard feelings.

I think "desperate fans" is a very strong label to use, but you're welcome to that opinion.

As for hair that red in Star Wars lore, NO ONE has the history, presence, or popularity that Mara Jade does. I don't see a reason to use Karen's hair, which is the color that Mara Jade's hair has been colored by artists for years, in a Star Wars movie unless you were using that character.

Of course I could be wrong, but that character as an antagonist and eventual hero will put butts in the seats AND it goes well with the evil getting redemption theme that George Lucas has made both trilogies about. It's a rehash, but it's a formula that works.
