HAN SOLO Directors Reportedly Fired For Clashing With Kennedy; Ron Howard Frontrunner To Replace Them?
More details on tonight's shocking Han Solo news have emerged, and it seems Lord & Miller were actually fired from the film by Kathleen Kennedy. Find out who may replace them after the jump.
On the heels of tonight's surprising Han Solo movie development, we're hearing that there may have been a bit more to it than the standard "creative differences".
Both Variety and THR report that Lord and Miller were actually fired for clashing with Lucasfilm's Kathleen Kennedy as well as screenwriter Lawrence Kasdan. Apparently, there was tension right from the off, as Kennedy simply didn't approve of the duo's "comedic and improvisational" shooting style and "process of interacting with actors and crew." Kasdan reportedly also took issue with many of their directing choices.
It does look like Lucasfilm already had a new director in mind before dropping the bombshell on Lord and Miller, as Ron Howard is now being named as the frontrunner to take over. Joe Johnston (Captain America: The First Avenger) and Kasdan (The Big Chill, Silverado) have also been mentioned as possible replacements.
We expect an official announcement fairly soon, but in the meantime be sure to let us know what you make of all of this in the comments section.
