In a recent interview with ABC News, promoting his new movie "Morning Glory", he revealed he didn't find the Star Wars icon, Han Solo, to be a very interesting character.

He said,"As a character he was not so interesting to me," Ford says. "I thought he should have died in the last one, just to give it some bottom. George (Lucas) didn't think there was any future in dead Han toys."

If that wasn't enough of a staggering blow to Star Wars fans, he went on to relate that he wasn't very excited about the movies being re-released in 3-D, but he did think George Lucas would do a good job.

OLD NEWS - Harrison Ford didn't want to come back after 'Empire'. He said as much in the FIRST batch of interviews oh-so-LONG-ago.

This guy is so unappreciative of that which made him it is beyond ridiculous. He lucked out in that he never had to act again after "Witness."
Not to mention he is one of the most boring interviews.

loganoneil is right. He said this a long time ago because he didn't want to do "ROTJ" because he was becoming a big star and wanted to do other movies.

Han Solo is easily one of the coolest characters in movie history.

However, if done right, Han Solo probably should have died in Return of the Jedi. Ideally, it could have been poignant enough to boost ROTJ above all the other Star Wars movies.

Ford's problem is that no one takes him seriously as an actor. He took goofy roles early in his career which ultimately ended up being iconic characters. He's quite good when he gets a chance to stretch his legs. He took Bladerunner to do just that, although Ridley Scott, apparently was more interested in the look of the picture than directing Ford. Zack Snyder seems to have that 'problem' as well, but thats a little off topic. I don't think Harrison is ungrateful, but there has been enough time that has passed where he can call a spade a spade and call Lucas out on his shit. 3D re-releases'? A new Han action figure every month? seriously... and don't think Ford gets any of that toy money, cause he doesn't. Hell, he's gotta pay Lucas every time he looks in the mirror in the morning.

I would agree with the 3d aspect of what he's said but I think his character in star wars was an important role that was tied into the story very well

@Lee, say there is a possibility for epidose 7, who do you think could play Han?
C'mon Man, Han was great because it was played by Ford. Lucas even admitted that the "I know" comeback was all Ford's.

@Anil, great line. My wife used it on me back in the day. Of course we were getting busy at the time, but we laughed about it later.
