Riz Ahmed got a taste of blockbuster filmmaking with Rogue One: A Star Wars Story and Venom, and there's a lot of excitement to see what comes next for the actor. There's been speculation that he might somehow return as Carlton Drake/Riot in Venom: Let There Be Carnage, while fans are optimistic that they'll get to see more of former Imperial pilot Bodhi Rook at some point as well.
During a recent interview with The Hollywood Reporter, Ahmed shot down the possibility of a Rogue One prequel which will incorporate his character (even Andor seems somewhat unlikely).
"I just haven't heard of that, to be honest," he told the trade when asked about a Star Wars return.
As for a possible future in the Venom franchise, the actor pointed out the obvious when he noted, "I think I'm done in Venom. It's pretty conclusive. Dude got blown up in a spaceship."
With both characters dead and gone, Ahmed's comments aren't surprising. However, there will be a lot of fans out there who are disappointed by the fact neither Bodhi nor Riot have a big screen future. There's certainly more which could be done with both characters, but it's likely the actor is keen to move on to other roles...hopefully, those include major parts in the MCU or DCEU!
Time will tell on that front, of course, but the actor has, at least, cleared things up with these projects!
