Those of you fretting about the possibility that Star Wars Episode VII would be delayed as a result of Harrison Ford's recent injury can sleep a little easier tonight as The Hollywood Reporter has confirmed that filming will resume later this month. It was reported a little while ago that they would be taking a short break to compensate for the lack of Han Solo - who apparently plays a major role in the movie - but the hiatus has lasted for only two weeks and Disney and Lucasfilm are still gearing up for a December 18th, 2015 release. Ford is now said to be in good health after surgery, and he will likely return to the UK to resume shooting soon (though sources could not confirm this). Star Wars Episode VII also stars Carrie Fisher, Mark Hamill, Anthony Daniels, Peter Mayhew and Kenny Baker, as well as series newcomers John Boyega, Daisy Ridley, Adam Driver, Oscar Isaac, Andy Serkis, Domhnall Gleeson, and Max von Sydow.

This is a summer movie taking place in December, that ALONE means this movie is gonna make it's cash.

Now that most (or pretty much all) of the EU isn't really a factor, I'm interested to know what direction they're going to take with the characters both old and new.

Is John Boyega a stormtrooper? Is Dohmnall Gleeson a traveler who also happens to be Luke's son? Does Daisy Ridley play Jaina Solo or a completely different character? Is Max Von Sydow a Vill- Okay different question...Is Max Von Sydow playing an Imperial villain or perhaps a new enemy? Is Oscar Isaac the new Han Solo? Are we going to see Andy Serkis's uncomputerized acting chops?

Is Luke missing? Does Han have the Millennium Falcon? Did Leia become a Jedi or did she go over more to politicians? Am I asking too many questions before the movie comes out?

None of these questions will be answered for another 492 days (or less considering how much the trailer shows).

@TalkinSoftball

I see where you are coming from with thinking the movie will disappoint. Abrams has me also feeling skeptical. However, I feel that using a screenplay by Kasdan will make a huge difference. It is similar to how things were when Lucas was in charge. When he had Kasdan on writing duties on, Episodes 4 and 5 as well as on Raiders of the Lost Ark and Temple of Doom the movies came out awesome. It was when Lucas took more control, Episodes 1,2,3 and 6 and Kingdom of the Crystal Skull is when the movies turned to shit.

I am hopeful that having Kasdan associated with the upcoming Episode 7 will get us a quality chapter in the Star Wars saga and prevent Abrams from screwing up the franchise beyond what Lucas did.
