He's in both standees. Luke will probably try to master both sides. That's what he's talking about in the first trailer

@BaronZemo - Exactly what I was thinking. Grey jedi, if I'm right.
Someone is just reading into things too much.

@BritishMonkey - It's a Josh Wilding article, he tries to turn everything into a tabloid style story.

@BaronZemo - You got it. The whole problem with them seeking "the chosen one" in the prequel trilogy is it was never about eliminating one side. It's about balancing both. And not balancing in a "you have to be equal parts good and evil" but balancing in that there is opposition in everything and they must understand the dark to master the light. I think that's what Kylo Ren is actually trying to do (e.g. "finish what you started") but he can't control the dark (hence the hissy-fits).

Sorry, unnecessary rant. I agree. Luke is trying to bring true balance by mastering both, and his experiment failed with Ben Solo.

@BaronZemo - grey Jedi confirmed?

@bcom - which we then read, hence he's done a good job.

@BaronZemo - Or could be as simple as them really wanting to advertise Luke in the movie. It could literally tell us nothing about the plot.

Oh Luke. Luke what you've done! You need to have a long hard Luke at yourself in the mirror. I can't even Luke at you right now.

I can kinda see Luke realising that balancing the force isn’t about ending the sith, but finding balance between light and dark within yourself.

@Knightrider - THIS. This mother[frick]er right here gets it.
DetBullock
DetBullock - 10/10/2017, 2:38 PM
@Knightrider - OR he tried to balance the Force but failed because the dark side isn't really a side but rather the imbalance itself.
Eli
Eli - 10/10/2017, 3:43 PM
@DetBullock - Exactly, and that's from Lucas himself. The act of using the Dark Side IS the imbalance.

Frankly, even without the numerous explanations that Lucas has provided over the years, this concept is fairly self-evident by virtue of the heinously evil acts one must perform to access the full power of the Dark Side.

Balance=Good, Imbalance=Evil.

Fans of moral relativism, a convoluted EU, and head-canon have been trying to twist this element of Star Wars for years now...

Star Wars is at its core a fairy tale with clearly delineated good and evil sides, which is what makes Vader's redemption a unique element.
