Rogue One: A Star Wars Story is already fairly jam-packed with characters, and we may be able to add a very familiar face from the original trilogy to the roster - albeit, a digital version of it. The Daily Mail Online is reporting that the late great Peter Cushing's character from A New Hope, Grand Moff Tarkin, will be back for Gareth Edwards' movie, which revolves around a group of Rebels attempting to steal the plans for the first Death Star.
Tarkin was instrumental in building that technological terror, so it does make sense that he'd factor into this story - but even though completely recreating a deceased actor using CGI has been done before (Oliver Reed in Gladiator, Paul Walker in the recent Fast Furious movie, and even Tarkin himself can be glimpsed briefly at the end of Revenge Of The Sith), this would be the first time it would be for more than a few shots.
We've already heard that Darth Vader will be returning, so if this is true expect to see Tarkin holding his leash once more. What are your thoughts on this? A good idea or disrespectful to Cushing's memory? You can read the full report at the link below.
