Arnie VS. Awful CGI Arnie In Latest TERMINATOR GENISYS Clip

The beginning of Terminator: Genisys, the first of three planned films that Paramount hopes will relaunch the beloved sci-fi franchise, is set in 2029, when the Future War is raging and a group of human rebels has the evil artificial-intelligence system Skynet on the ropes. John Connor (Dawn of the Planet of the Apes’ Jason Clarke) is the leader of the resistance, and Kyle Reese (Divergent‘s Jai Courtney) is his loyal soldier, raised in the ruins of post apocalyptic California. As in the original film, Connor sends Reese back to 1984 to save Connor’s mother, Sarah (Game of Thrones‘ Emilia Clarke), from a Terminator programmed to kill her so that she won’t ever give birth to John. But what Reese finds on the other side is nothing like he expected.

Starring Arnold Schwarzenegger, Jason Clarke, Jai Courtney, Emilia Clarke, Matt Smith, Byung-hun Lee, Courtney B. Vance, and J.K. Simmons, Terminator Genisys is set to be released on July 1st.

I'm not expecting a lot anymore but I'm still hoping that it turns out good. Hopefully it can at least have some cool future scenes...at least laser guns are back!

Those guys playing the punks are AWFUL! I guess they don't have the rights to use the original footage.

That CGI looked pretty damn good to me. A little emotionless, but it's a Terminator after all.

Also, no shotgun is that accurate, even in the hands of a machine. He's firing at a target at least at least 3 dozen yards away with people directly behind him. They would have gotten hit just as much as the T-800 did. Unless it's a slug, which the sparks effect implies it's not.

This is the only scene in the movie that I'm excited to see. Good T-800 versus bad T-800.

Compare it to the original scene. Every aspect is worse:

Did they insert something in his hood to make it more ... hood-like?

That CGI is garbage. If you like it, fair enough, but you like garbage. When he was running at him it looked like round 1 of a damn Mortal Kombat fight.

They simply can't make a fully CGI human character, it just doesn't work. They keep trying and they keep getting.... garbage.

And the acting from the punks is... I can't even be bothered complaining about this movie any more. Not a single thing I've seen from it even made me think "eh, that was okay".

Everytime, EVERYTIME I see the fanboys complaining about this movie, the first thought that comes to my mind is: "what's the problem?". Seriously, WHAT IS THE DAMN PROBLEM? Am I taking crazy pills here? Is it just for me that this movie actually looks pretty good?

I think we all need to go out more often or whatever.

They should have done a CGI Bill Paxton too...his absence was much more disappointed than the CGI Arnie

CGI looks great but the point of the article is to trash the film because that's the kewl thing to do.
LordHuck

Why do you have to insult the film in the title of the article? I think that's Shitty.

To be honest, it looked far more convincing than the CGI Arnie in Terminator: Salvation.
