According to Variety, Boyd Holbrook (The Host), Tom Cocquerel (Anzac Girls, Wilson Bethel (Hart of Dixie), Sam Reid (The Railway Man) and Jai Courtney (Jack Reacher) will all be testing for the role of Kyle Reese on Monday. The character was made famous by Michael Biehn, and in The Terminator, he was sent back in time to protect the mother of the then unborn John Connor. Emilia Clarke (Game of Thrones) will play Sarah and the role of John will be filled by Jason Clarke (Zero Dark Thirty). Bigger names like X-Men: First Class' Nicholas Hoult and Tron: Legacy star Garrett Hedlund were originally eyed by the studio, but their focus turned to lesser known actors when both declined to read for the part. Terminator: Genesis will be released on July 1st, 2015.

Let this die already. Terminator and Terminator 2 are cult classics and the story should have ended right there, with a perfect closure.

So this will be an excuse to get the T-800, Sarah Connor, John Connor and Kyle Reese to team up against other Terminators/Skynet.

They bought rights back, reboot it and it will be fully rated R. They said they want add darkness and horror effects like it was Terminator 1
So reboot will be like Terminator 1 movie, dark, gritty.

What's wrong with Anton Yelchin? Why replace him? This would be a perfect link to the old series. Is this Terminator 5 or not? This is bullshit.

Cameron's Terminator movies are classic and in a league of their own. In those two movies, time is relative and their are no alternate realities. His universe balances on paradoxes like a cosmic ballerina.
But, beyond that, the franchise can easily reboot by feeding off of Salvation and using the time travel element.
As such there are many levels of descent from the greatness of the franchise.
1. The original film, The Terminator is a masterpiece.
2. The sequel was a stupid idea, but turned out to be a classic and a perfect companion piece.
3. To go on without Cameron was just dumb, but even though Terminator 3: The Rise of the Machines was shit, Terminator: Salvation was okay. The franchise is still enjoyable.
4. Rebooting the franchise entirely, ignoring even the obvious linking devices in Salvation, without Cameron. This is entirely akin to lining up Cameron, Hurd, Scwarzenegger and Hamilton and shitting on all of their faces, in turn.
These are the degrees of descent.

Terminator is done and over with. There have been so many cast changes, that I don't care anymore about this. I want a sequel to Terminator Salvation with Christian Bale in a FUTURE WAR at NIGHT with PLASMA RIFLES and HK's. How fricking hard is this? I'm done with this.
