SHAZAM! Director Reveals What Billy Batson Is On A Quest To Find In The Movie

At Comic-Con, we finally got the first trailer for Shazam! and while it definitely revealed some new details about the DC Comics adaptation, there's still an awful lot we don't know. Now, director David F. Sandberg has shed a little more light on what we should expect from the titular hero's alter-ego, Billy Batson. We know he'll clash with Dr. Sivana but what else can we expect from the youngster?

He'll obviously learn to become a superhero alongside his foster brother Freddy Freeman and it sounds like he'll also be on the lookout for his mother, someone who has actually been long thought dead.

"He’s trying to find his family. His mom is still out there," the filmmaker explains. "But once he gets these powers, he’s just trying to figure out what to do with them and how it works. For that he needs his friend Freddie, who is like a superhero expert, who helps him to discover his powers and how to be a superhero." That adds a very interesting wrinkle to the character's story, that's for sure.

What do you guys hope to see from Shazam!? Are you intrigued by the prospect of a subplot revolving around Billy's missing family? As always, share your thoughts in the comments section down below.

Pretty interesting angle there, trying to find his real family. I do hope it ties together well into the whole superhero thing.

Totally not hyped for this one but it sounds good.

Just wanna say that David F. Sandberg is a great filmmaker and while I didn't know Shazam! before, I will definitely check this out in cinema. The trailer looked promising.

This movie feels like a combination of Big and Greatest American Hero.
