SHAZAM! Footage Description Possibly Reveals How The Movie Teases BLACK ADAM - SPOILERS

A handful of journalists were recently given the opportunity to take a look at footage from Shazam! and it appears as if it spoils a pretty significant Black Adam Easter Egg. Read on for further details...

Earlier today, we learned that the chances of Black Adam appearing in Shazam! are somewhere between slim and none but journalists who recently got to see some footage from the DC Comics adaptation may have now revealed a major Easter Egg regarding the anti-hero/villain.

Apparently, when Billy Batson first finds himself at the Rock of Eternity (and face to face with The Wizard), he learns that "he's the last wizard alive from the now destroyed Council of Eternity," Screen Rant reveals. "He says that a long time ago they chose the wrong champion, who presumably led to their downfall. Rather than just tell the story, the Wizard permeates the room with magic, like a hologram, and shows the former champion over what appears to be Egypt."

In the comics, Black Adam was once made the champion of the Council of Eternity in Egypt but after he turned on his masters, he was banished before returning in the present to take on Shazam.

When director David F. Sandberg and producer Peter Safran were asked if that was indeed a nod to Black Adam, they responded: "You can read it that way if you choose to." This has to be a nod to the character who will be played by Dwayne "The Rock" Johnson, though, and more than likely an indication of how the two movies will be loosely tied together.

What do you guys think? As always, share your thoughts on that in the comments section below.

Black Adam film probably deals with his origin and defeating some evil entity, but finding out Midway through that the Council is up to some shady shit

The potential they have with pitting Cavill's Superman VS the Rock's Black Adam. Imagine a brawl like Fallout but this time with magic. damn shame if it doesn't happen.

If you use Key Collector app for comics, a key alert a few days ago states Black Adam does have a cameo. I have found a lot of the Keys are correct in the information given. Time will tell.

If it were ANYONE ELSE besides The Rock, we would probably get a proper Black Adam cameo...

I feel the next trailer will be the "final", and will be a 5 minute one like they did for aquaman.

So far I'm actually up for how they're doing it, playing it close, the one minute spot in Janurary was really good, rn this movie is projecting early around 40-60 million on a 90 million budget, which isn't bad, a final trailer and good reviews could bump it up a lot

Would people be upset if somehow Black Adam was rewritten as an anti hero more than a straight up villain? Like Shazam and Black Adam figure out the Council of Eternity has become corrupt and their polar natures initially put them at odds but a common enemy gives them just enough motivation to confront the wizard together and make the council answer for their crimes.

I think DC should use this as a unique take on their superhero movies. Traditional superhero movies introduce the good guys and bad guys in the same film. The good guy usually gets more development than the bad guy because traditionally bad guys are killed off, locked away or appear to die and sometimes resurface. The good guy gets the focus because he's going to appear in multiple sequels to face off against other bad guys.

In the comics the bad guys get as much focus as the good guys and some even have their own stand alone series. Why not adopt this approach in movies?

You introduce a character like Shazam in his own movie then you introduce his main rival, Black Adam in his own movie, you give them both room to develop and give the audience a sense of what they're about and what their motivations are and then you pit them against each other in a movie.

You could do this with any number of heroes and villains. Superman could get another stand alone film and you could also introduce Brainiac in his own film, then make a movie of them facing off. Hell, even Darkseid could get a movie or two of his own before facing off against the Justice League.

I think that taking that approach to making the villains just as important as the heroes could be a cool way to approach a superhero movie universe.
