Despite the fact that shooting on Black Adam and Shazam! 2 is expected to take place at roughly the same time, we've heard on a number of occasions that there aren't any plans for the two titular characters to cross paths...yet. Instead, it seems like Warner Bros. is building to a huge crossover event film which will finally bring these franchises together.
We're bound to see something which connects Shazam and Black Adam, though, and you have to believe it will likely be a cameo or post-credits scene which sets the stage for that meeting.
During a recent live Q&A with fans on Instagram (via Screen Rant), Shazam! star Zachary Levi emphasised that he won't be making an appearance in Dwayne Johnson's Black Adam movie, and explained that he's currently busy focusing on the sequel he will be starring in.
However, once work on that is finished, Levi pointed out that, "Maybe we’ll get to pay off all of those Captain Marvel/Black Adam epic fights and storylines from the comic books."
It would be crazy for a crossover not to happen, but also understandable that the priority right now is to explore Black Adam as a character and further establish Shazam (and the Shazam Family) as superheroes in the DC Extended Universe. Once this meeting does take place, you'd best believe sparks will fly!
Are you guys excited for the inevitable Shazam vs. Black Adam battle on the big screen?
