Zachary Levi is still on the fan convention circuit it seems as the Shazam: Fury of the Gods star recently made a guest appearance at the Chicago Fan Expo on Saturday.
Levi previously came under fire for comments he made earlier this month at the Manchester Comic-Con in the UK, where he described the SAG-AFTRA strike rules as "dumb" because he wasn't allowed to talk about any of his past film and television projects.
However, his comments at the Chicago Fan Expo were reportedly well-received by attendees.
"I personally feel like the amount of content that comes out of Hollywood that is garbage — they don't care enough to actually make it great for you guys. They don't," Levi said to reported huge applause, per Entertainment Weekly.
"How many times do you watch a trailer and go, 'Oh my god, this looks so cool!' Then you go to the movie and it's like, 'This was what I get?'" Levi stated. "They know that once you've already bought the ticket and you're in the seat, they've got your money. And the only way for us to change any of it is to not go to the garbage. We have to actively not choose the garbage. It'll help. It'll help a lot."
While his comments may have been well-received by the audience at his panel, DCEU fans online are wondering if Levi is taking a stab at Warner Bros.
It's an understatement to say that Shazam: Fury of the Gods didn't perform at the box office as well as Levi or Warner Bros. would have hoped. However, that film's box office failure has seemingly been overshadowed by the huge loss WB is now burdened with by The Flash.
What are your thoughts on Levi's statement? Do you think he's making a veiled dig at Warner Bros. or is he simply making a general argument against Hollywood blockbusters?
