Robert Rodriguez has revealed that the highly anticipated and long awaited follow up to Sin City will happen, after Spy Kids 4, and then only if the script is ready..

Director Robert Rodriguez has revealed via a Facebook livechat that took place this afternoon that Sin City 2 would be the follow-up film after Spy Kids 4: All the Time in the World. But, only if the script is ready in time..

"Frank Miller and I are working on it, It's slated to be the next one, but if the script is not ready, then we'll have to move to the next one.

He gave no indication what that "next one" may be. Let's just hope the script IS ready. Rodriguez also said that although Bruce Willis' character Hartigan dies in the first film, he would like to bring him back for the sequel..

"I wanna bring him back for Sin City 2 because he's so bad-ass."

The director also said that "It's quite possible" that the plot would follow the Hell And Back storyline from Miller's comics. This goes against previous reports that they would be focusing on the A Dame To Kill For arc which Angelina Jolie was rumored to be interested.

Anyway, this seems like good news. We have been hearing Sin City 2 was on the cards for too long for me to get my hopes up too much. Also, Rodriguez does have other options available to him, one of which is the Deadpool movie! If that Sin City script isn't ready, don't expect him to hang around.

Lucaxmen, I agree. What the hell is with those Spy Kids movies? I don't even know any kids that like them for God'd sake! Anyway,. I think RR makes garbage in general aside from Sin City.

robert rodriguez should stop f*cking making shit like spy kids & make sin city 2 instead.

This has been going on for far too long.I can't believe he is going to do something like Spy Kids..again,and not do Sin City 2.Them doing a sequel is about as bad as DC putting movies out.Which means,it's just a bunch of talk.And I personally don't want to see Jessica Alba in the next one.Ever since she came out a few years ago on one of the Spike TV Awards shows and basically called all of her fans a bunch of perverts and has acted like such a stuck up b*tch,I haven't like her since.They can find somebody that's way better looking and can actually act.I think Kiele Sanchez (The Glades & 30 Days of Night:Dark Days) would be a perfect replacement.I don't think she's a douchebag like Jessica Alba is.But they need to just make the damn movie.I'm tired of waiting!!!

seriously who is demanding to see Sin City 2...he captured lightning in a bottle with the first film because it was something we never saw when it came to comic books movies and had one of the best casts of all time, do you all really think he can capture that feeling a second time. The time gap between sequels is way too long for it to be relevant any more when movie going since then has evolved. I bet the studio would want it to be in 3D and done in a quick amount of time. As for Spy Kids 4...he has to do a kids film because he did an R-rated one last....thats how he works now

I wouldn't hold my breath. Sorry if I sound ignorant, but if the movie is THAT close to the comic, then it seems like making a script wouldn't be rocket science. They're probably going to make a trilogy back to back like last time. Anyway, awesome Jolie poster.

Alba is just a tease. No nudity. Sure she's hot, but they cast her as Nancy whose nude dancing figure is one of the icons of Sin City and she never dropped the top, add that to a serious lack of acting chops and she just gets a "meh" from me.

One thing I always found funny about Rodriguez and Gugino is he casts her as mom in Spy Kids then has her walking around sans clothing through almost her entire part in Sin City (and thank God for that). You know they guy was just waiting for the excuse to see that, lol. "Oh, hey Carla. I've got just the part for you."
