Marvel Studios has done a great job of bringing a lot of Spider-Man's villains to the big screen as The Vulture, The TInkerer, Shocker, Scorpion, Prowler, Molten Man, Hydro-Man, Mysterio, and more have all appeared in some form across the wall-crawler's past two solo adventures in the MCU.

Now, with Spider-Man: Far From Home in theaters and a mid-credits scene that sets the stage for a huge paradigm shift in the web-slinger's world after his secret identity was revealed, we're looking ahead to the bad guys he could square off with next.

There are a lot of amazing options, including some who have been seen in previous Spider-Man movies and others who have yet to grace the silver screen. All of them have the potential to be Spidey's most fearsome foe to date, and we think you'll be surprised by some of the possibilities listed here.

So, to check them out, all you guys have to do is hit the "View List" button down below!

Hobgoblin

Hobgoblin

Does Marvel really want to go back down the Goblin route? The Green Goblin’s story was covered in-depth in all three of Sam Raimi’s Spider-Man movies and even factored into The Amazing Spider-Man before Harry Osborn took up the mantle in the sequel.

However, despite the similar look and name, the Hobgoblin is a very different kind of bad guy. A number of men have held the mantle, while the initial mystery of who was beneath the mask could make for very entertaining viewing on the big screen.

A successful fashion designer, Roderick Kingsley became the Hobgoblin when he discovered one of Norman Osborn’s caches of weapons, and managed to alter the Goblin formula to avoid going insane. Those ties with the Green Goblin mean that his origin story would have to be greatly retooled, but he’s worthy of a movie appearance.

@SpideyPuffsMJ - Well actually your bottom comment sounds a pretty good way to go the way you’ve put it, I’ve always wanted to see scorpion, I’m glad we got Mysterio because he was who I wanted next but I’m open to the non obvious or more obscure villains being used, it’s a shame TASM got there hands on lizard first though

We could play the long goblin game with Osborn hiring the Hobgoblin to go after Peter or something else that gets Spider-Man involved, then another goblin emerges... Honestly any story where Spidey is a fugitive on the run. Good opportunity to have multiple villains work in a story. Some combo of Kraven, Osborn and/or Scorpion would be godly.

I understand that you guys have to make money, but the amount of ads that pop up on this site is too much. There's this one ad that pops up on the left side of the page that blocks out some of the article, so I can't even make out what's been written.

Also, Kraven's definitely gonna be the villain. Spidey's identity is out there now. It's the perfect opportunity for him to hunt him down.

I haven't seen FFH yet but I watched Into the Spiderverse the other day and I don't get all the love for that movie. It was fun, but I still don't think it comes close to Spider-Man 2 as the best Spider-Man movie. The gravitas of this scene alone hasn't been topped by any CBM.

@blackandyellow - I agree. It's a great movie and a damn great Spider-Man movie. I'll throw it in the top 3 or forsure top 5 but I cannot compare animation to live action. You just can't. I liked Far From Home more than Spider-Verse because it was almost just as comic booky but it was real life.

All the new and different scenarios we've been seeing Spider-Man go through onscreen lately have been truly amazing, but I do believe all that build-up and deconstruction is leading towards a very cool 3rd outing where Spidey settles back into his concrete jungle in New York and will be surrounded by enemies on his home turf. Fully immersed in a Spidey world that isn't as beholden to the wider MCU narrative, but not disconnected.

Kraven is the only logical villain for the next one. Which I'm super happy about, loved Kraven in the 90s cartoon, especially how he actually helps spider-man a couple of times. And he kicked ass in the MTV Spider-Man as well.

As for the goblin, the 90s cartoon did it. I think you could get away with hobgoblin first Green Goblin second. Really build up to osborn. Make sure he is the ultimate Spider-Man adversary.

Chameleon. He could really screw with Parker, now that his identity is known publicly.
