SPIDER-MAN: FAR FROM HOME Set Video Features A First Look At Nick Fury And Maria Hill

A video from the set of Spider-Man: Far From Home has been released today and it offers a first look at Nick Fury (Samuel L. Jackson) and Maria Hill (Cobie Smulders) on the UK set of the Marvel sequel...

Spider-Man: Far From Home is still shooting in London, England, as Peter Parker swings across the pond and leaves Queens to explore some other parts of the globe. It was recently confirmed that Samuel L. Jackson and Cobie Smulders will be reprising the roles of former S.H.I.E.L.D. agents Nick Fury and Maria Hill and now both actors have been spotted shooting a scene on the UK set of the Marvel sequel.

As you can see, they're just walking along discussing something when Maria seemingly gets a notification on her phone which stops them in their tracks. Common sense says they'll end up working with the wall-crawler because they too are on the hunt for Quentin Beck/Mysterio. Unfortunately, this video doesn't shed any light on whether the sequel takes place before or after Avengers: Infinity War

Regardless, it's going to be interesting seeing Spidey cross paths with these two and seeing what they make of him will definitely be a lot of fun. Check out the set video below and stay tuned for more from Spider-Man: Far From Home when we have it. You can also read a rumour breakdown by clicking here.

Cool! Well Nick Fury has a patch and they're both in tactical gear. We know that to be self-evident. So whatever brings them back after disappearing in Infinity War, doesn't change anything about them visually. Nothing changes in the past around Nick losing his eye and it appears they still are part of Shield?

Does anyone see any SHIELD badges on their jackets? Or better yet, SWORD?

Still dk what I think about Nick Fury and Maria Hill being in this movie. I’d rather Spidey interact with his own world of characters than pulling these guys off the bench.

@regularmovieguy - I want Shield crossing with Spidey just so they can eventually reveal that Nick Fury knew his parents as agents.

@regularmovieguy - I'm happy it's them and not T'Challa or Doctor Strange. They made Iron Man work in Homecoming because he only appeared in two scenes. Hill & Fury are not crazy combatants so we know they will have just firefight scenes like they did in Winter Soldier.

Guarantee you Hill and Fury will provide Peter with Intel and do covert ops.

@CaptCoulson - Seriously 🤦🏾‍♂️ They were pretty upfront about it because they knew they can’t really hide much in this day and age. How many other ways do they have to say it? Lol

@LORDbuckethead - It was reported that the Sequel takes place literally minutes after Avengers 4, so it makes sense they wouldn't have time to change clothes. But some speculate this movie takes place right before infinity War

Interesting that Hill has her gun out. Is SHIELD officially reinstated?

@OmegaDaGrodd - Hill will more than likely be an operative of the Sokovia accords.

Now that I think about it, I think Maria Hill is the only character Marvel has whitewashed. Which is surprising since latinas are pretty badly represented in CBMs to say the least, it would have been a good opportunity. Oh, there's the Ancient One in Doc Strange as well, I guess.

In any case, I feel Cobie Smulders makes for a terrible Maria Hill. The MCU's Maria Hill, makes for a terrible Maria Hill. Maria is actually an amazing character in the comic (When Bendis isn't busy making her [frick] Tony Stark, as he does every single one of the female characters he's writing *cough* Gamora *cough*. She should be half master strategist and leader, and half lying manipulative bitch who would do anything to get the job done. She could have been so much more.

@Asturgis - I don't think Maria Hill was ever confirmed to be Hispanic in the comics.
Asturgis
Asturgis - 9/4/2018, 11:19 AM
@rabid - She talked about her childhood in the Pleasant Hill storyline and also in Jessica Jones. Which admittedly was after Cobie Smulders was cast, but Maria has been drawn has a latina for years. I don't believe you need an official statement or a source book anyway. It isn't written black on white either that Jessica Cruz (the Green Lantern) is a latina, but she obviously is.
