SPIDER-MAN: INTO THE SPIDER-VERSE Stills Put The Spotlight On The Heroes & A New-Look Green Goblin

Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse will put the spotlight on not only Miles Morales but also a number of Spider-Men and Women from across the Multiverse. While it's clearly going to pay homage to the comic books in a variety of ways, the movie is also going to do something new and that's evident from the fresh take on the Green Goblin you can see below.

We also have a shot of the older Peter Parker alongside Miles, Spider-Gwen, and Aunt May (which version of May that's supposed to be is hard to say but it could be the aunt of the version who died in Miles' world).

Either way, much of what we've seen from this movie looks like it's been torn straight out of the pages of the comic books and that was a deliberate decision according to co-director Peter Ramsey. "We utilised comic book printing techniques… all those things that we could have fun with and bring a level of self-awareness to our story," he explains.

What do you guys think about this new look at Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse

@BassMan - Not a fan of what? Spider-Man?

@PeterStarker - I believe @BassMan means the goblin and I agree. I cannot wait to see this. Saw the after Venom credits scene of this and got really pumped for this movie but don't care for the look of the goblin at all.

@Manmarvel - It's an alternitive goblin, they can do what they wish basically.

@MadameCipher - it's based off the Ultimate Spiderman Green Goblin with a few other elements too. I've also never been a fan of that version, but it's a clever nod to the source material and helps further illustrate this isn't Peter Parkers universe. I hope we get to see Peter's Goblin as a reference point.

@ArthurFleck - It's possible it practically is ultimate goblin. I mean peter in miles universe appears to be dead.

@MadameCipher - I know, I just prefer something a little more people sized lol. It's not going to stop me from seeing the movie though.

Why is Gwen younger than Pete? are the other universes in different time periods too?

@Dacci - That Gwen is from a different universe, which is why she's Miles age.

@Dacci - Yes. Spider-Man noir takes place in the 30's, for instance.

@Luminus - Gotcha, oddly enough, I've probably read the least spiderman comics of all of Marvel. He's had so many different iterations I'm not even sure where to start. The whole spiderverse thing seems a bit convoluted to me at this point to spend weeks reading it, but I'll spend a few hours on it with a movie.

I hate actual goblin Green Goblin.

Just realized how important this film is. SONY needs to properly introduce multiple Spider-Man universes to the GA effectively.

So when the time comes to pull Holland’s Spider-Man from MCU and bring him into a confrontation with Venom...the ground work will have at least been laid for the GA to understand how Holland’s Spider-Man existed in another Universe than Venom’s but now are combined.
