Earlier today, Latino-Review dropped a massive scoop that was, in part, already reported almost three months ago about Drew Goddard possible taking the writer and director's chair for the next Spider-man movie. But was this scoop confirmed by Daredevil showrunner Steven DeKnight back in January?
As you can see below, while answering a fan comment about Spider-man, DeKnight said Goddard was the perfect guy to do a Spidey movie.
Now, some people thought he was talking about Sinister Six or it could be just his opinion, but the interesting part is the date when he said it, January 27. In December it was reported that Sony would have a meeting to decide Spider-man's cinematic future on January and even if it was reported until February 9 it's obvious the deal took more than one night to be signed and released (unlike what some people in the internet think).
But why would DeKnight know about the deal before it was announced? First, it is well known that Goddard and DeKnight are good friends and second, Goddard must trust DeKinght enough to tell him about his next movie, given that he left him in charge of his Daredevil series when he had to leave to work on Sony's Sinister Six.
What do you think? Does this confirm Drew Goddard will direct the next Spider-man movie or was he just giving his opinion? Share your thoughts down below.
