Now that you've had the opportunity to watch Spider-Man: Far From Home, we wanted to share our interview with director Jon Watts ICYMI last week. The original article follows in its entirety.

Spider-Man: Far From Home is now in theaters, and to mark the release of the movie, we recently had the opportunity to catch up with director Jon Watts. The filmmaker also helmed 2017's Spider-Man: Homecoming, but based on the reviews we've seen, he's outdone himself with the sequel.

Watts touches on a huge number of topics here, including a "Peter's To-Do List" short film on the Blu-ray, why Stan Lee was sadly unlikely to ever make a cameo appearance, rumours about characters like Norman Osborn and Gwen Stacy, the fallout from Avengers: Endgame, the absence of Karen/"Suit Lady," and Spider-Man and Mysterio's costumes.

We've included time stamps for the entire interview in case you want to skip to a specific subject, but the whole thing is well worth watching because the director's passion for the wall-crawler is clear to see and he provides a lot of fascinating insights into the making of the Sony Pictures release.

Needless to say, we want to say a big thank you to Jon for taking the time to talk to us.

Check out the interview in the player below:

0:34 - Why the movie includes the classic "Parker Luck"
1:05 - Details on a short film which will be included on the Blu-ray
2:02 - Why Karen/"Suit Lady" isn't in the movie
2:31 - Making Spider-Man more proactive rather than reactive
2:59 - Knowing a Stan Lee cameo was always unlikely
3:36 - Creating some unique Mysterio scenes
4:08 - Why Captain Britain doesn't make an appearance
4:35 - No, Gwen Stacy wasn't ever going to be in the movie
4:50 - Rumours about Norman Osborn and the Sinister Six
5:22 - Mysterio's fishbowl helmet
6:05 - Were Nick Fury and Maria Hill always set to appear?
6:25 - How Avengers: Endgame's production impacted Far From Home
6:55 - Why the movie focuses on Iron Man instead of Captain America
7:20 - Thoughts on a Venom crossover
7:40 - Will he return for Spider-Man 3?
8:03 - The possibility of this being the first Spider-Man movie to make $1 billion
8:23 - His involvement with how Spider-Man was used in the Avengers movies
9:13 - Why the new costume is red and black

Many thanks to CBM's Rohan Patel for editing the video above!

Good job Josh, good interview. I appreciate that there weren't any stupid, obvious questions like other interviews. Nor any like "Would you rather fight a chicken-sized duck or a duck-sized chicken?"

OT: Game Night directors fired from The Flash. Ezra Miller will stay on as THE FLASH with Andy Muschietti (IT) in talks to take over as director, and Christina Hodson (Birds of Prey) writing the script

This [frick]ing sucks so god damn much. I hope this film never happens.

Ezra Miller is a bad actor, and the Game Night guys on Flash made so much sense. @Marvel, you guys should pick them up for Fantastic Four since they're incredibly promising talent!

@tmp3 - I wish the exact opposite of that happened

@tmp3 - On the one hand, it sucks that the two of them are off, because I loved Game Night and they did so great with Spider-Man and they seemed letter perfect for this.

On the other hand, I loved IT, the sequel looks just as good, and getting horror directors to make their movies has been working wonders for DC lately.

Still, I won’t believe this movie’s actually happening until I see set photos or a trailer.

@MUTO123 - This was my most anticipated DC film behind Batman, and now I hope it never, ever happens.

@WakandanQueen - Imagine the sheer power of a Billy Magnussen-led Flash film from the Game Night guys.

@tmp3 - Jesus. I'm almost convinced this movie will never happen now.

This will be their 4th director, I think?

Seth Grahame-Smith
Rick Famuyiwa
John Francis Daley / Johnathan Goldstein
Andy Muschietti (?)

@tmp3 - Oh man, a Billy Magnussen Flash from those guys is a [frick]ing dream! That would've been amazing. I hate WB so much. Ezra was always the wrong choice, from any perspective.

@IronGenesis - Sorry, deleted the last post.

But yeah, seems like WB is waiting for him to finish Fantastic Beasts 3. I don't think they're going with his story, since Christina Hodson is doing a total rewrite.

@Battabing - Shaft was GREAT ! 5 Stars out of 5 Stars. The audience at Rotten Tomatoes agrees with me. 94%

@Battabing - Your still angry because Godzilla King of Monsters flopped so bad.

What was the Rotten Tomatoe score for Godzilla ? 40% Worldwide Total 377 million with a 170 budget. Needs to hit 550 million to break even,

Now you want Marvels Spider-Man Far Home to flop but it has 93% critic score and a 98% audience score :)

@DoubleD -

1. I don't care about kaiju, so why would I be upset about Godzilla? I'm barely a casual fan.

2. Didn't you just say I should ignore the RT score for Shaft (32%), but here you trashing Godzilla for it's low score of 40%?

3. Point out where I said I wanted Spider-man to flop. Do it. I dare you.

@Battabing - BUT you posted first about Shaft and it's quite obvious I'm the one that completely ignores Rotten Tomatoes.

Your obsessed that I did completely ignored Rotten Tomatoes and went saw Shaft for myself and liked it. Along with 94% audience approval.

"It was amazing, would definitely see it again. The cast was great, especially Samuel L Jackson, a lot of action and cursing, some funny stuff as well."

"It was enjoyable. It had action, drama, comedy, and great Soundtrack. Samuel did not disappoint."

"Loved the humor and the suaveness of the intergenerational Shaft men!"

"It was a great movie from the start to the end. I loved when we found out his son could fight and pull the trigger. The dislike was it wasnt long enough"

"This movie was pretty funny. I wouldn’t listen to the salty & negative reviews. It’s a light funny movie and it’s a good summer laugh! It’s definitely a good mix between your parents “soul” generation and the new generation!"
