G4tv's The Loop summed up some of the Spider-Man craziness from the last 36 hours. On the distinguished panel were Jeff Katz from GeeKWeek.com and HitFix.com's Drew McWeeny (who, oddly, both look like they came from a Kevin Smith convention). They gave some interesting takes of people like us in the online fan community and the business decisions being made by Hollywood.
Some of the high points being discussed were the financial decisions for Spider-Man movies going forward. Since everyone's multi film contracts were expiring, the reboot just came earlier than intended. It does not seem, in these insider's opinions, that many big names will star in or direct this movie. This is only supported by the recent news that Marc Webb of "500 Days of Summer" is the front runner. These guys really touch base on a lot of the same subjects that have appeared in all the recent threads.
