Could 'Kraven The Hunter' Be The Villain Of The SPIDER-MAN Reboot?

Not much to go on here, but we know Marvel and Sony won't be using a villain that we've seen before for their Spidey flick - who better than Kraven? Click to find out why this is definitely a possibility

Heroic Hollywood has posted... if not a scoop exactly, certainly some pretty interesting information relating to which bad guy we might see Tom Holland's Peter Parker face off against in the Spider-Man reboot. Their sources report that Sony's Vice President of Creative Affairs, Karen Moy, recently purchased a copy of the Kraven's Last Hunt trade paperback on Amazon.

So maybe she just fancied a bit of light reading and heard this was a good story? Not likely! Apparently during her 20 plus year tenure at Sony, Miss Moy has purchased plenty of other comic books for research purposes for her former boss, Amy Pascal - so this is a good indication that Sony, and the recently hired writing team of John Francis Daly and Johnathan Goldstein, are at least considering Kraven as their villain.

J. M. DeMatteis' Kraven's Last Hunt is widely considered to be one of the greatest Spider-Man tales ever told, and would definitely serve as some very exiting source material to draw from. This is far from irrefutable evidence of course, but something worth thinking about. What do you guys make of it?

The entire basis of Mayimbe's rumor is that someone at Sony bought a comic book that featured Kraven the Hunter.

I'm going to go out on a limb and assume this is just bullshit.

So Sony is working with Marvel, but they can't just ask Marvel for a copy of the book?

I call BS.

It shouldn't be Kraven's Last Hunt, because Peter is barely even in that book. And also, Kraven wouldn't be able to dress as Spider-Man b/c no way would Kraven be the same size as Tom Holland. I'm okay with a Kraven story, but don't make it Last Hunt

Ron Perlman as Kraven The Hunter

The funny thing about people asking for Mysterio is that his most famous story is a direct rip off of Kraven's Last Hunt.

If they set up scorpion and culture, then they could do doc ock and finally Kraven with Rhino to set up Siniister Six. But this is assuming that the green goblin has already killed Gwen Stacy and can set up the team when the reboot begins

I think Mysterio is a bit too mystical for the MCU, especially a quirky high school based film. I really wouldn't mind if they revisited Rhino,he was barely a character in TASM2. Kraven, it to me, the kind of villain who works better in comics than on the big screen.

Doc Ock or Kingpin should be the villian for Marvel's Spider-Man.

I'm betting they'll use him sometime down the line, but I doubt for the first solo movie.

Like everyone else, I want to see this guy first:

Jacky, won't Ron Perlman be busy filming Hellboy 3?

Oh, that's right ...
