Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse has grossed over $680 million at the worldwide box office, and with glowing reviews, the movie is a definite hit. In fact, it's probably a shoo-in for next year's "Best Animated Feature" Oscar.
Following the release of several big summer movies, the animated sequel's time in theaters has just about wrapped up. As a result, it arrives on Digital platforms next Tuesday, August 8 and will then swing on to Blu-ray a little less than a month later on September 5.
We have a full breakdown of the special features (via Toonado.com) you can look forward to across all platforms and with a total of 90 minutes of extras, there's plenty to keep us going until Spider-Man: Beyond the Spider-Verse.
Okay, so maybe not that much (the movie recently lost its March 2024 release date and is not coming "TBD") but these all still sound pretty great...
- - Obscure Spiders and Easter Eggs
- Deleted Scene: Miguel Calling
- "I'mma Do My Own Thing" Interdimensional Destiny
- Across the Worlds: Designing New Dimensions
- Designing Spiders and Spots
- Scratches, Score and The Music of the Multiverse
- Escape from Spider-Society
- Across the Comics-Verse
- Lyric Videos
- Filmmaker Commentary
- Creating the Ultimate Spider-Man Movie
- Raising a Hero
- Your Friendly Neighborhood Spider-Cast
So, we have only a single deleted scene on the way
That's going to disappoint many of you but it was probably to be expected given how animation works. Still, after all that talk of producer Phil Lord scrapping completed sequences on a whim, we're a little surprised there isn't more to see.
What will be particularly interesting is learning which version of Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse we're actually getting as slightly different cuts ended up playing in theaters (with alternate dialogue in certain sequences).
Are you excited to watch Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse again?
