MORBIUS Poster Teases The Living Vampire's Powers And Reveals New Look At The Movie's Cast

Sony Pictures has debuted a very cool new poster for Morbius today ahead of the movie's planned April 1 release, and as well as teasing the Living Vampire's powers, we also get a closer look at the cast.

Morbius has now been delayed more times than even The New Mutants, but it finally looks set to hit the big screen on April 1. It's still hard to say how good the movie will turn out to be, though the combination of Daniel Espinosa at the helm and Oscar-winner Jared Leto in the lead role has us intrigued.

Despite Spider-Man not factoring into proceedings, there's no reason the Living Vampire can't find success in a solo outing, and the presence of Michael Keaton's Adrian Toomes has upped interest levels significantly (was he inadvertently sent to another Earth when Doctor Strange cast that spell in Spider-Man: No Way Home?). Now, to continue building hype, a cool new poster has been released.

It doesn't reveal anything major, but we do get a fresh look at Morbius' impressive cast. There are also some neat hints at the sort of powers this comic book villain/anti-hero will unleash in his movie.

"One of Marvel's most compelling and conflicted characters comes to the big screen as Oscar winner Jared Leto transforms into the enigmatic antihero Michael Morbius," reads the synopsis. "Dangerously ill with a rare blood disorder and determined to save others suffering his same fate, Dr. Morbius attempts a desperate gamble. While it seems to be a success, a darkness inside him is unleashed. Will good override evil - or will Morbius succumb to his mysterious urges?"

The cast of Morbius also includes, Matt Smith, Adria Arjona, Jared Harris, Al Madrigal, and Tyrese Gibson. The movie was most recently confirmed (we hope) for an April 1 release in theaters.

@KWilly - ratings don’t make movies successful look transformers score on that site both sequels made billion back to back fans and people decide what they like and want to see not critics

Generic man in hoodie trope. Nothing relevant about vampires on this poster, besides half asses echolocation visual.

I like the cast though

Please be better than Carnage
Please be better than Carnage

I can't believe I liked Riot more than THE Carnage.

It's Carnage ffs, one of the craziest Marvel killers!

Anyway of the Venomverse I really like the casting of Hardy, Leto, Taylor-Johnsson and Johnson.

The team up could be cool.

Just please don't fail like Carnage.

@UXASIS - Sony do cast some great people but stick them in awfully made / presented movies. I'd have preferred Hardy playing Brock seriously or more aiken to the 90's cartoon version instead of the hammy Brock we got. Not all of the humour from hammy Brock hits but I can see why GA enjoy this take on him the way they do.

Harrelson, great actor, great choice for Carnage & yet shoddy / mediocre material to work with. Just doesn't make sense.

@TMW1987ProudProWrestlingFan - I never thought carnage and Shriek would be worse than these two:

A natural born killer for crying out loud! Terrifying guy on Out of the Furnace! Unbelievable

@TMW1987ProudProWrestlingFan - Also don't like the hammy Hardy.

His dynamic with Venom was trying to be funny, but rather failed than succeeded at making me laugh.

Harrelson is a great actor, but I wasn't happy with him being cast as Cletus. I'd prefer someone younger and slimmer.

Cillian Murphy was my favorite choice.

@UXASIS - That would have also been an excellent choice tbf.

As soon as the firt trailer / footage dropped with the breakfast making scene from Venom LTBC I just knew what we were in for & that it wasn't going to deviate away much from the first iteration. Don't get me wrong, there are some funny lines / one liners that do hit for the comedic take on Brock, but that breakfast scene is just one of those WOTT hammy scenes & attempt at humour that didn't resonate with me.

@UXASIS - Cillian Murphy would do great! My vote was Walter Goggins

@UXASIS - the portrayal of Brock/Venom is wrong so Woody Harrelson’s Carnage made sense for the slapstick comedic nature of Venom 2. If Venom was more of a serious character then Cillian Murphy would’ve been BANANAS as Cassidy. Good pick bro.

@TMW1987ProudProWrestlingFan - Yeah, the breakfast scene and the nightclub scene weren't very fit for Venom as a character.

I had high hopes for Serkis' take, but the only thing I liked was the action scenes.

Also, the length was good, because it was short, which made the pacing go faster.

Hopefully, Venom 3 will lessen the comedy aspect and bring a non-symbiote villain (even tho Toxin will be there).

@Evansly - Yeah Murphy is a great actor and he could fit a lot of cool characters.

I've even seen a fan-casting that put him as Victor von Doom, and that sounds even better.

@WruceBayne - Thanks, mate!

Hopefully, we'll see Murphy in a cbm again.
A secondary role in Batman Begins doesn't do justice to this awesome actor.

@dragon316 - While not comic accurate (I don't mean the gender, but the behavior - Tasky is a kinda funny-assassin who throws a lot of catchphrases), I still enjoyed his wannabe Winter Soldier vibe more than Carnage's love poems.

@MUTO123 - every character they make a sh*tty spin-off movie for is one more they can’t authentically introduce in the MCU. My heart cries that we probably won’t get to ever see their (likely better) take on Venom and Kraven

Most compelling and conflicted? If that were the case, I'm sure he'd be a little more widely known
