Morbius isn't the most highly anticipated comic book movie of 2022 for many fans, but we'd be lying to say we're not intrigued by what's in store for us from the Living Vampire's big screen debut.
Last night, news broke that the Marvel Comics adaptation has shifted from January 28 to April 1. Reshoots took place a few weeks ago with Michael Keaton's Vulture, though it's been reported that one of the main reasons for the delay is Sony Pictures wanting to give Morbius a better release date that also takes it out of Spider-Man: No Way Home's way. With how that movie is performing, it could quite easily beat the Jared Leto-led blockbuster during its opening weekend.
Now, though, Morbius has earned the dubious honour of becoming the most-delayed movie ever. It's been pushed back on more occasions than even The New Mutants, and that's no easy feat.
Believe it or not, the blockbuster was originally going to open several months before Spider-Man: No Way Home started shooting. After this latest delay, Morbius will open in theaters four months later i was released. It doesn't really matter, of course, and Daniel Espinosa's monster movie has managed to avoid the sort of negative buzz that plagued The New Mutants before and during the pandemic.
Barring any further delays, Morbius should hopefully be released at the beginning of April.
