Morbius opened back in late March/early April to overwhelmingly negative reviews, with fans and critics alike agreeing that the movie sucked (there's an awful vampire pun for you to start the weekend).
This was reflected in the blockbuster's dismal box office takings, though something surprising has happened on social media in recent weeks. Rather than receiving the sort of vitriol movies like Fantastic Four and Suicide Squad did, Morbius has become a subject of ridicule, inspiring countless jokes and memes.
Most are in good fun, and Sony has even added more theaters to its domestic run to see if fans are inspired to go watch it again this weekend. We don't see Morbius generating the sort of numbers that open the door to a sequel (especially as the movie was dead serious and not even meant to be tongue in cheek), but even star Jared Leto is getting in on the joke now.
As you can see, he's shared a video of himself reading a script for the sequel by "Bartholomew Cubbins" (a pseudonym used by the Oscar-winner). The title? Morbius 2: It's Morbin Time. No one seems keen to see more of this Living Vampire on the big screen, but you really can't fault Leto for poking fun at himself.
