SPIDER-MAN: NO WAY HOME Star Tom Holland Says Fans Will Be "Shocked By" Peter's Actions In The Movie

During a new interview, Spider-Man: No Way Home star Tom Holland has revealed that fans will see Peter Parker's "bad" side in the movie, and that people might be "shocked by" some of his actions.

We know our friendly neighborhood wall-crawler is going to be pushed to his limits in Spider-Man: No Way Home, and it sounds like having a cabal of ruthless Multiversal villains to contend with his going to bring out a side of Peter Parker we haven't seen before.

Up until now, Tom Holland's take on Spider-Man has always done his best to be a hero in every situation he's found himself in, but we know from the comics that the Webhead has lost control on occasion and done things he wasn't proud of while attempting to protect the people he cares about. Will we see Peter cross the line in No Way Home?

Holland and Zendaya were both asked if this threequel would allow them to do things with their characters that they hadn't been able to previously during an interview with CBR, and the former gave a very interesting response.

"We see so many more sides of Peter. All the characters, you know? We get to emotionally put them under a certain situation we've never cinematically seen," said the MJ actress. "So you see them deal with different kinds of pressure, different kinds of scrutiny, different kinds of..."

"Yeah, and also Peter Parker's ability to be bad," Holland cut in. "There's something that happens in this film which I think fans will be very shocked by, which is really exciting and, for me, was something I loved bringing to the screen."

We can't see Parker going down a full-on villainous route - though that would certainly be a ballsy move - but he may be forced to take some drastic actions in order to defeat his enemies. Could Holland be hinting at Spidey taking a life, perhaps?

We'll find out in just over a week's time when No Way Home swings into theaters.

He's been acting like an aging teenager since Civil War. His actions won't be surprising.

At the very most he beats the ever-living shit out of someone. Like how Cap did Tony. Nothing more.

People only want to see this film for the returning franchise cast. Tom's Peter is an after-though. And by people i mean me.

I wonder if this is more to do with how, exactly, he messes up Strange's spell, or even the deal he makes with him to begin with.

It did seem very out of character in the trailers for Strange to basically just be like "yeah sure, I'll mess with the fabric of reality just to cover for you" considering how he was willing to literally let Peter die to prevent Thanos from messing with reality by acquiring the Time Stone in Infinity War. So maybe Peter does something that kind of forces his hand?

Or maybe Peter's meddling when Strange is doing the spell isn't just down to him being annoying and asking too many questions, but is something he does to interfere more actively, obviously not thinking/caring about the consequences?

Or perhaps it's how he handles coming into conflict with Strange after the spell goes awry and they disagree over how to deal with the multiversal villains?

Well, now I'll be prepared for anything, so I "won't" be shocked. See, Tom, you just kept me from being shocked by telling us we will be shocked.

I think we’ll see him let loose on someone for the first time. We’ll probably see exactly how vicious he could be if he wasn’t a good person.
