Previously portrayed by Rosemary Harris in the past three Sam Raimi helmed Spider-Man movies, it seems that Marc Webb is taking things in a slightly different direction by casting the younger actress (by twenty years) best known for her role in Forest Gump and more recently in ABC's Brothers & Sisters. Here's what the site had to say:
"Sally Field as Aunt May?"
"The actress is in early talks to play Peter Parker’s beloved aunt in the new Spider-Man movie, which Marc Webb is directing for Columbia."
What do you think about this? Is she a good choice to star alongside Martin Sheen? And does the fact that they've gone for a younger actress hint at things being a little more "Ultimate" in the upcoming reboot? Be sure to share your thoughts in the usual place!
