'Spider-Man: No Way Home's ending guaranteed a more in-depth story for the MCU's take on the wall-crawler, as from the very least of what we know, a fourth movie is imminent to occur within the characters joruney throughout the MCU as a friendly-neighborhood hero. Fans are anxiously remaining on top of any bit of evidence or news regarding what we could potentially witness in the upcoming fourth movie, as the previous installment in the trilogy left so many questions to be answered, and so much more story to cover as Spider-Man will now see his standalone ventures take him elsewhere into new territory, with possible new allies.
As we know, which had been confirmed by Marvel Studios President, Kevin Feige, back in February scriptwriters were tasked for penning potential storyline ideas and plotlines for a fourth Spider-Man film. Of course, nothing has been confirmed yet, but even Kevin Feige can expect that this further chapter in Spider-Man's story will remain in a more "grounded" setting, especially following the more multiversal "at-stake" story of what we saw in 'No Way Home':
You talk about Ghost Rider, we’ve got Blade, we’ve got Doctor Strange, we’ve got the supernatural angles, we’ve got the street-level with our announcement of Daredevil, and of course, Spidey going into the street-level heroes. - Kevin Feige, The Direct
Following the primary star of 'Spider-Man: No Way Home', that being Tom Holland as Spider-Man himself, the actor recently was on an interview with Inverse, and the discussion landed at the potential 'Spider-Man 4' amid. Now while it is not an assumption Tom knows more than we do, he did offer slight insight about what he has potentially been told about the movies current script draft:
"looking pretty good"
"some stuff going on"
"excited about."
- Tom Holland
While these claims toward the unannounced film from Holland shed a tiny bit of anticipation and intrigue, he follows up by expressing doubt on the movie existing as a possibility, if something were to happen:
“Whether or not it’ll come to fruition, who knows? But right now it’s looking pretty good, and we’ll just have to wait and see.” - Tom Holland, The Direct
All things considered, from multiple claims according to the star, scriptwriters, and Kevin Feige himself, 'Spider-Man 4' does not seem to experience any sort of delay in its composition anytime soon, and it will be hitting theaters before we know it.
One report that has not received any confirmation or denial was the potential of the fourth film following the events of 'Daredevil: Born Again', which will be meeting a release date on Disney Plus in Spring of 2024. The storyline of Wilson Fisk's mayoral campaign will seep into storylines of other MCU projects, and 'Spider-Man 4' sounds but the perfect film to include that plotline, and introduce the long-awaited rivalry between Kingpin and Spider-Man.
However, with the actor announcing his year-long hiatus from acting, that does push the highly anticipated movie back a bit from when fans are expecting a release.
But as of right now, and amid the writers strike, nothing of old or new details have been confirmed or denied, so we will have to wait and see.
