There's a huge amount of excitement surrounding Spider-Man: Miles Morales, but the reveal that Peter Parker will have a completely new face in both the new game and the remastered Spider-Man has not received a positive response. Despite claims that the only reason for the change is the PlayStation 5's updated technology, many fans believe it's just an attempt to make this Peter look more like Tom Holland.
His youthful appearance has also been rejected due to the fact that he now looks younger/the same age as Miles Morales, but it's clearly here to stay if this new promo video is any indication.
In that, we get to see a conversation between Peter and Miles by text, and a selfie shared by the latter not only puts the spotlight back on his new mug, but also what looks like an overhauled Mary Jane Watson. In her case, though, she's just been polished up a little rather than totally redesigned.
Heading into the game's November 12th launch, this redesign is bound to continue to cause controversy.
In the latest adventure in the Marvel’s Spider-Man universe, teenager Miles Morales is adjusting to his new home while following in the footsteps of his mentor, Peter Parker, as a new Spider-Man. But when a fierce power struggle threatens to destroy his new home, the aspiring hero realizes that with great power, there must also come great responsibility. To save all of Marvel’s New York, Miles must take up the mantle of Spider-Man and own it.
