Has Elena Satine Met With 'Spider-Man' Director Marc Webb?

Elena Satine (a major fan favorite) tweeted a couple days ago what might lend more credibility to the idea that Satine will play Mary Jane Watson in the upcoming 'Spider-Man' reboot.

As of today, September 11th, 2010, Elena Satine posted a tweet a couple days prior to today saying the following: 'snuggled up with the latest draft of the script...can't wait to meet my director tomorrow AM! :)'. Could this be a small foreshadowing towards the 'Spider-Man' reboot?

Even though we do not actually know what this project Elena is involved with is, we do know she has campaigned for the role of Mary Jane Watson for a long time. Sony would be stupid not to go with her after the insane amount of supporters she has gotten in so little time.

With the news breaking not too long ago that Marc Webb would be meeting with actresses for the "love interest" role in the film, it could be a small hint. Also, isn't it funny that Hilary Duff reportedly has a script titled 'Spider-Man' laying around her house just days before Elena just so happens to tweet she has gotten the latest draft for her new movie?

This is pretty exciting news. I am hoping that this news will excite all of you CBM users. Keep in mind, being that Elena posted that tweet up on September 9th, 2010, then she may have met with Webb yesterday.

'Spider-Man' will be directed by Marc Webb and will be released on July 3, 2012, starring Andrew Garfield... and hopefully Hilary Duff and Elena Satine.

@RockNRollCC: Just because she wont be the main love interest doesn't mean that she wont be in the movie.

Just watch the Spectacular Spider-Man cartoon and how they did it to where Gwen as the main love interest and Mary Jane was around as a friend.

@deadpool they are the worse things about 1+2 but 3 has problems all of its own that are far worse than MJ and Aunt May.

I really hope they learn from Spectacular Spider-Man as well as Ultimate as that in my opinion was the perfect way to re-do Spider-Man. Also I hated the Ultimate version of Gwen. Spectacular version all they way.

We dont need MJ in this movie. The comic books have moved on from her and Peter being an item and it's about time they did the same with these live action adaptations. Hire Teresa Palmer to play Gwen Stacy and I'll be happy! :)

I would like to see MJ as a friend. She shouldn't be the main love interest until Gwen bites it, hell no, but she should still be a supporting character. And it looks like that's what's going to happen, so I'm happy.

Gwen being the main love interest is going to be win for this movie, hopefully they don't kill her off in this film but wait to do that in the end of 3rd when they bring Goblin into the mix, then have the 4th film set a few years later Peter is now getting over Gwens Death and MJ has been there the whole time to comfort him and they are now starting to fall for each other, that would be a great start for the second trilogy when they bring in Venom and do him right and end the 6th film with Carnage..... but I dream no way they would do something smart like that.

@Osiris: Or they don't kill Gwen and take the franchise into uncharted territory, which would go a long way in terms of distinguishing the Webb era from the Raimi era.

Tyler, I've never seen her act, but I have heard good things about her ability. So I go on that when its from someone whose opinion I trust.

I agree with Tyler and Osiris when it comes to MJ's role in the films. I think she should be the troubled girl next door who has been a friend of Peter, kind of a mix up of her original origins and what was established from the Raimiverse. I think she and Pete should be friends, but she should be waaay to wild and waaay to much woman for Pete to handle. No, she needs to be the common friend for Pete and Gwen. Its time to do this right and have Gwen be the original love interest for the first few movies.

I've said it before that Pete never changed or grew in the Raimiverse. He didn't evolve. He always loved MJ he always had May, etc. Gwen was his turning point in the comics, her death was what really matured the character of Spider-Man. Ben's death gave him the will, Gwen's death gave him the maturity to be a great hero. We need both losses to fill the character out and give him more of a chance to mature.

If Gwen is in this, I don't think they're going to kill her. It would seem to much like they're trying to rip off The Dark Knight. I know the Spidey comics came before TDK, but usually these things happen (ex. that pedophile killing scene in Watchmen, I heard was altered because they thought it was too much like Saw, even though the Watchmen comics came first)

NERO @ Countless times, I bet we get Ultimate, WEBB has practically said that in many interviews countless times too, who wants the magic of SPIDEY 1 & 2 back... I for oine do!

I can see the Webb reboot making even SPIDEY 3 look like 'The Godfather!'

Besides i didn't here anything I liked about Spidey 4; rumblings of him getting a son and the whole Vulture/vultress crap.
Also I'm one who thinks Raimi's Spider-Man movies are over rated. I enjoyed them, don't get me wrong, but man his stories are about as faithful to the source material as the ULTIMATE universe. At least in Ultimate they didn't CLAIM to be faithful.

What I REALLY hated was that they HAD to find a way to connect Spidey with his villains. I didn't mind it with Doc Ock but what they did with Sandman... ugh.
