Yes, we know he is playing The Lizard, but the Welsh actor is still not allowed to talk about that apparently. But he does tell us how he feels about playing the villain, and being a part of the production..

Ifans spoke to The Associated Press today about scooping the role of the villain in Marc Webb's Spider-Man reboot. It was revealed a while back that he will be playing Dr curt Conners(The Lizard), but since it hasn't been officially announced he can't go into specifics yet it seems. Still, its the first we have heard from Ifans since landing the role..

"I'm constantly suppressing a very wide smile, [I'm] very, very excited about it.

"It's a great script, great director and the money ain't bad,"
he said.

Ifans will be starring opposite American-born and British-raised Andrew Garfield, who will of course be playing Peter Parker(Spider-Man)

"It is quite cool this one, to have Spider-Man and his villain both from the U.K.,

Shame he can't talk about the specifics of the role yet, but I'm sure it won't be long before we get all the official announcements out in the open.

I can't wait to see if they give Connors a Welsh accent in this film or if Ifans trys for an American accent. I have never heard Ifans try in any way to suppress his accent.

Good stuff Ror!

Billy Crudup would have been perfect Dr. Conners.
Rhys Ifans should be Electro or The Jackal (Thou im sure he is great as Conners)
Bryan Cranston as Norman Osborn.
Joseph Gordon-Levitt, Anton Yelchin or Alden Ehrenreich as Harry Osborn.
And
Gerard Butler as Kraven (Who i still hope would be in this)

Sam Raimi should have had Lizard in his 3rd movie. He seems like a great director for the character. I'd only want to see him in a darker tone.......and I doubt this film will be all that dark.

They really fricked this up... I'm no way a Macguire fan, however, he was Peter Parker/Spiderman. Is there any real reason why they're re-booting? It's not like the other films weren't successful. I think the corporate "gols" are stepping in the way of these projects too much... Like that IDIOT Jon Peters who wanted that friggin' spider in his Superman film, and then didn't want Supes to fly?! What a douche!

The Lizard will be an awesome classic villain to see the Web-Head battle on screen. Plus Gwen Stacy (even tho Emma Stone shoulda been MJ...grrr) is the first girlfriend... Just hope they don't cast stupid parts and that the setting is right. Better not be an adaptation of Ultimate.
