Spider-Man 4 Villains Revisited

A quick recap of rumoured villains for Spidey 4

Sam Raimi has stated that the script for Spider-Man 4 should be ready by the summer, so the villains that the wall-crawler will be facing should be confirmed soon after that. I just want to recap suggestions, rumours and fan picks on the villains:

Lizard - Lizard is almost definitly going to be in the film. Sam Raimi and Dylan Baker have both said they would like the character to appear in the upcoming film. Dr. Connors has been in the series since his brief mention in the first film, so it's about time we see him in action.

Carnage - Carnage is a villain a lot of fans want to see. Their logic behind his appearance will be that the sample that Dr. Conners kept during the third movie will be the Carnage symbiote. This could work, especially if Lizard gets involved too. Though this is unlikely to happen. But maybe we'll see him in the upcoming Venom film.

Morbius - This is an interesting pick. Morbius wasn't one of the big villains in the rogue's gallery, but the Living Vampire could be in the film. Sam Raimi himself has said that he could appear. It is an odd choice and could be hard to pull off. But if done well, it could make a good movie.

Mysterio - Quentin Beck was at one point rumoured to appear in Spidey 3, played by Bruce Campbell. That didn't happen, but some fans want it to happen. Mysterio was a good villain, and it would be interesting to see him on the silver screen, but it is only a rumour.

Electro - Raimi said at one point that he would like to intoduce Electro. He is a good villain that could work well, but nothing else has popped up yet.

Vulture - Vulture is a very likely choice. He was originally in the script for Spidey 3, and they approached Ben Kingsley to play him. They already made concept art, so they could easily fit him into the story.

Kraven the Hunter - Grant Curtis (producer) said he would like to see Kraven in a future film, but nothing else has really been said, so this probably won't happen.

Black Cat - Black Cat was considered to appear in both the 2nd and 3rd movies, but was dropped both times. Some fans would like her to appear, so it could happen. But if it did, I don't think she would be the main villain. She would take up more of a side villain role.

Sinister Six - Raimi said at one point that he would like to create the Sinister Six. It could happen if all the villains were made up of previously introduced charaters, but Sandman is the only villain to have survived. So it could happen, but will more likely happen in the 5th or 6th installment.

So that is it for now. More news should arrive soon. My updates will be infrequent, but i'll try to keep up.

Lizard/Kraven or Scorpion/Shocker(Shocks would be a minor) or Rhino/Kraven/Lizard if they just have to have 3 lol but we know how more than 2 villians turns out :)

Lizard/Kraven does write itself, thank you dellamorte. Mysterio could also hold an entire movie as a lone villain. I seriously hope we never see the Vulture though. I hate him, always have. One of the lamest villains ever.

As for a Sinister Six movie... AWESOME! While Sandman is clearly still alive, in SM3, an article on J.J. Jameson's wall is titled, "Doc Ock still at large?" and we all know Norman Osborn comes back. Bang, there are 3 members to utilize for the movie.

I disagree with you, dellamorte, that Black Cat couldn't be in a movie. SM3 had many more problems than the 3 villains and nonsensical Gwen Stacy addition. It's all in the way it's handled and how it's told. After all, in the someone elses hands, SM3 could have been either much better or much worse even in keeping with the same story and plot details. I think a Mysterio movie would be a perfect chance to introduce Black Cat. And no one said she has to be a "love interest" for Spidey. To me, the best part of Peter and Felicia's relationship was fraught with conflicted feelings and great sexual tension. I'd prefer it be portrayed that way on film.

I kind of like the idea of the scorpion. Shocker is also a cool villian, but he'd never reach the rank of an a list. I don't like the kraven and lizard idea though, since the story was told in the spiderman 3 videogame. The vulter could be cool but i don't think he'd be able to pull off a lead role. My favorite idea though would to bring in the peter parker clones Ben Riley, a redo of scorpion, and maybe kain.

Are you shitting me BeauReed? That is either a joke or just... just... I don't know what to call it... just... wow. The clone sage is the most shunned and terrible section of Spidey's history. So much so that Marvel has retcon'd many aspects of it, as though it never happened. What's next people? Beau, I bet for SM5 you'd like to see Morlun and the Spirit of the Spider. OMG, so shitty.

dellamorte, Kain was one of the MANY failed Spider-clones. You have missed nothing by having never known who he is. It is even still joked at by some writers that the Spiderman we know is not the real Peter Parker, but that Peter allowed one of the successful clones to assume his identity while he retired, and that this 'clone' truly believes himself to be the real Parker. I would be pissed to the point of no longer buying Spidey if that is ever addressed to be the case.

4 should have the lizard, with Kraven hunting him you could also use the chamelon story from the comics as a sort of side story thing plus kraven and chamelon are brothers so that could work into it somewhere as well.
5 should be carnage and hobgoblin with both of there storys sort of being set up at the end of 4.
6 should have mysterio, shocker, electro, rhino, scorpion, and vulture as the sinister 6. If done correctly I think that the shocker could be really cool with all the visual effects and stuff that they have now. And clones would be way to confusing and I would hate to ever see that in a spider-man movie.

@ dellamorte1872: Venom(Mac Gargan) approaches Eddie and the symbiote tries to bond with Eddie again, after Eddie's cancer was cured by Mr.Negative. Eddie's body resists the symbiote and the white symbiote emerges from his body and fights Venom(Mac Gargan). Eddie now becomes anti-venom and his symbiote 'cures' people bonded with symbiotes. Spidey helps Antivenom fight Venom and Eddie cures him of the symbiote and cures Spiderman of whatever is left in his body from years ago. Antivenom teams up with Spidey a bit against the Thunderbolts because Norman Osborne had something of Spiderman's, I think it might be his camera not sure.

On another note alot of people are trashing Vulture. He is in fact a pretty menacing villain who randomly picks up pedestrians and splatters them on the pavement below. He also had a stint during marvel knights series in which he was robbing to get money to help his sick grandson and gave spidey quite some trouble. He has also been hired by both the Owl and the Kingpin to assinate targets. He has almost beaten Spidey to death on several occassions. He is pretty fierce and definatley one of Spiderman's more dangerous rogues. I still would rather see a Lizard/Kraven storyline in 4 thought.

@MidKnight35: If they ever did use Vulture, it would have to be using that story and version of Adrian. Actually, throw in Electro and give us that whole battle from the Marvel Knights Spidey. You know, where they actually put Parker in the hospital and Vulture comes to finish him off. When he gets to the room he kills the nurse, but then Black Cat jumps in and [frick]s Vulture's face up pretty bad.
Your right though, Vulture is a sadistic bastard. The fact he's old enough to be Parkers Grandfather never sat well with me. To be more fair to him, he does a bit more than just try to drop Spidey dellamorte, lol. He has a great deal of talent in flight, such as high manuverability that rivals some of Marvels best fliers, and with the suit, he can reach some pretty fast speed's. He's also always had a manner of talons on his hands as well as an ability to syphon energy or lifeforce from his targets, though I'm not fully clear on the intricacies of that particular power of his. Bottom line in regards to Adrian Toomes, a simple costume change won't be enough to make him a respectable villain onscreen.

if they brought Morbius in Spider-man 4 would they have a cameo by Blade?
TheMyth

Agreed. I think Mysterio is the last villain they have to work with that could pull the movie together as a solo villain. Aside from that, They're gonna have to use villain team-ups to keep the threat level up.

@dellamorte1872: I agree. Symbiotes should be kept as far as possible from the rest of the franchise, until it's rebooted. You can almost tell how all these, "I want Venom, I want Carnage" come from people who watched the cartoons and that's about it. I'm glad Raimi is an old school cat.

the sinister 6 would be a possibility in maybe Spider-Man 6 (and the marketing for that would work well, lol!) they could bring back the green goblin (norman) doc ock, sandman, and in the next couple of films introduce shocker, lizard, scorpion etc-it would be pretty amazing!

focus on story instead of action scenes. that's what made the dark knight such a great movie. everything played out well.

oh and if carnage is in any of them then use jim carrey, for the only serious role i have ever seen him in was number 23. a good effin movie
