The Amazing Spider-Man 2 will be out in May, and the director Marc Webb just can't stop teasing. He's continuously teasing how the movie is more "huge" compared to the last movie. He told TotalFilm that they will be "pushing the levels of effects, the level of action and the emotional capacity of this kid. It's an aggressive step forward." The director adds, "We throw around the term 'operatic' because of the spectacle and the theater involved, which is pretty epic." He also teases once again the big sets and the relationship between Peter and Gwen. "There are enormous sets and great set-pieces. But really it's a very intimate song – this relationship between Peter and Gwen is very delicate and beautiful." Are you excited for The Amazing Spider-Man 2? Sound off below, and remember to tune into the Superbowl to catch a short TV Spot for the upcoming sequel.

We’ve always known that Spider-Man’s most important battle has been within himself: the struggle between the ordinary obligations of Peter Parker and the extraordinary responsibilities of Spider-Man. But in The Amazing Spider-Man 2, Peter Parker finds that a greater conflict lies ahead.

It’s great to be Spider-Man (Andrew Garfield). For Peter Parker, there’s no feeling quite like swinging between skyscrapers, embracing being the hero, and spending time with Gwen (Emma Stone). But being Spider-Man comes at a price: only Spider-Man can protect his fellow New Yorkers from the formidable villains that threaten the city. With the emergence of Electro (Jamie Foxx), Peter must confront a foe far more powerful than he. And as his old friend, Harry Osborn (Dane DeHaan), returns, Peter comes to realize that all of his enemies have one thing in common: OsCorp.

STARRING:

Andrew Garfield as Peter Parker/Spider-Man
Emma Stone as Gwen Stacy
Shailene Woodley as Mary Jane Watson
Jamie Foxx as Max Dillon/Electro
Sally Fields as Aunt May
Dane DeHaan as Harry Osborn
Paul Giamatti as Aleksei Sytsevich/The Rhino

RELEASE DATE: May 2nd, 2014.

Well think they can only go up from TASM, it wasn't "bad" for me, but could have been much better...

This movie has had the best marketing strategy since Avengers. It's gonna be badass, and should be the first Spidey movie to break the billion dollar barrier. Can't wait.

I wish that instead of the Sinister Six, there was an angle that lead into Maximum Carnage. I feel like that would give the movie a chance to be pretty dark without having 6 villains.

I've said before... I think this is going to be the highest-grossing CBM of 2014. Reallllly looking forward to it... of course, I can't wait to see Winter Soldier either. Who knows, Guardians may be the best of them all... I'm not as jazzed for DoFP, but it's definitely behind the other three for me.

I think it has the potential and the best release date to hit one billion. No Spider-Man film ever hit $1B, but no Batman film ever did before TDK was released as well.

Just watched TASM again last night, and it was on the lower end of ok. There was so much that could have been done better. Pretty much all of it. It's never a good thing for a reboot when while you're watching it you keep thinking about the originals. I felt Raimi captured the tone of the world of Spider-Man much better than Webb. Still looking forward to this one, hopefully it will be the improvement it looks like. I'm very cautiously optimistic.

So stoked for this film. I have a sneaking suspicion that Webb is going to drop some Cletus Kassidy on us after the credits.
