David Ayer Kicks Off SUICIDE SQUAD World Premiere By Saying, "F**k Marvel!"

Don't have a sense of humour? You may want to turn away now! Introducing Suicide Squad at the world premiere earlier today, David Ayer made some comments in jest which he's since apologised for.

Suicide Squad looks set to be a massive hit for Warner Bros. this weekend, but is director David Ayer a little too confident about its chances of success? Marvel Studios had the #1 opening of 2016 with Captain America: Civil War back in May, and when a member of the crowd at the world premiere of the DC Comics adaptation earlier this evening shouted "F**k Marvel," the filmmaker responded in kind!

Now, that remark was clearly made in jest and in the heat of the moment, but social media has since exploded with hate aimed at Ayer. That's partly down to the video below which makes it appear that he just shouted it out of the blue for no reason, but as you can see from the director's Tweet, he's since cleared things up by apologising to fans for making those comments aimed at Marvel Studios!

Still, with Suicide Squad set to demolish Guardians of the Galaxy's August box office record, Warner Bros. may very well be within their rights to say "F**k Marvel!" a few days from now. Thoughts?

All in good fun, both studios need each other and want success for the sake of the genre. Just pumping up the building and is confident in his movie, gotta love it.

@Menks123 - @Menks123 - You say that, but that's not how the industry works. Walt Disney himself pulled a lot of dirty tricks to keep other animation studios from rising up all the way from the 1930's to his death, a tradition carried on by the Disney company through the 90's.

Competition does not guarantee success. Controlling the market better guarantees success. That's a cynical and less kumbaya outlook, but closer to the truth.
