SPOILERS: Major SUICIDE SQUAD Story Details Cover The Joker's Role, Twist Ending, And More
Some massive story details for David Ayer's Suicide Squad have found their way online, revealing how the team comes together and what roles both The Joker and Lex Luthor will have in the 2016 movie. Oh, and the reason Tom Hardy left? It could be to do with the MASSIVE twist...
Latino-Review have scored yet another major Suicide Squad scoop, this time revealing major new details on the plot of the David Ayer helmed movie. We'll start with the most interesting details, and those are about The Joker. He apparently will be seen early on as Harley Quinn attempts to break him out of Arkham, but is later moved to Belle Reve by Amanda Waller in order to keep Harley in check. The site adds that, "He spends most of the film in a cell, very much like Hannibal Lecter, until he breaks out of prison in the end." An additional source tells them that he will escape during a prison riot at the end of the movie, murdering several people in the process!
Lex Luthor meanwhile will indeed be the team's target - sort of - as it's up to the Suicide Squad to stop a human trafficking gang selling him bio weaponary. That weapon? The Enchantress! The team retreive her, and she will then be kept in an underground area of the prison "which has all sorts of genetic freaks imprisoned including a King Shark." Based on this, it sounds like it will be pretty easy for Lex not to make a physical appearance if Eisenberg decides not to reprise the role here.
Rick Flagg meanwhile is the movie's good guy and keeps a watchful eye over Amanda Waller throughout. He's described as being more of a government agent than superhero, while the team will indeed be implanted with explosives to take them out if they attempt escape (though many of them do end up free during the breakout mentioned above). That big twist? Flagg is revealed to be a villain in cahoots with Rick Flag Snr., and it's this shocking reveal which may have led to Hardy reconsidering his role in Suicide Squad. The duo are apparently keen on getting their hands on Waller's weapons, with the movie described as setting up various other franchises.
More details can be found by clicking the link below (including news on how Deadshot will be introduced), but they add that Waller may be after Batman too, though he never actually appears.
