SUICIDE SQUAD Director David Ayer Reveals Cut Katana Scene Spotted In The Film's Trailers

The #ReleaseTheAyerCut movement just received even more ammunition after filmmaker director David Ayer revealed another scrapped sequence fans of the comic books will almost certainly be desperate to see!

Suicide Squad director David Ayer has seemingly been fuelled by the news about Zack Snyder's Justice League receiving an HBO Max release as he's just dropped another big Ayer Cut reveal on Twitter.

Asked by a curious fan about a scene from the trailers which showed Katana's eyes going black, the filmmaker explained that in his Suicide Squad, the assassin was going to be controlled by Enchantress and forced to fight Task Force X. Unfortunately, that's another big moment that ended up being cut when Warner Bros. decided to reshape the film.

This is likely to further the demand for Suicide Squad to receive the same treatment as Zack Snyder's Justice League, hence why the #ReleaseTheAyerCut hashtag is being banded about so much online.

Whether Warner Bros. is going to take note is another matter altogether, especially as James Gunn's The Suicide Squad is being released in theaters next year and a Director's Cut like this will potentially distract from that. If throwing it out there will drive more paying customers to HBO Max, however, it could be something WarnerMedia seriously considers.

Would be nice to see Katana get more exposure, but seriously the movie's script was written in one or two weeks. The likelihood of it being good are slim

This is Katana... She’s got my back... She can cut all you in half with one sword stroke just like mowing the lawn... I would advise not getting killed by her... Her sword traps the souls of its victims.

@Kyos - Expositional shit writing 101. 😝

Movie proceeds to never show her use sword nor trap the souls of its victims.

Because everyone loves a set-up with no payoff. Smfh

Having the big bad be some sort of mythological creature was so SO DUMB.
This should've been a corrupt black ops team that traces obscure villains small scale villains.

This thing literally writes itself.

@KnifeWasTooSlow - I don’t understand how it is so hard for them to get this stuff right. I know I can’t make a movie but I could of had a better script for this movie then they did.

@KnifeWasTooSlow - Because Warner Bros. were idiots and didn't feel like playing to their director's strengths even though it would've fit the flick well.
