Jared Leto will be starring in 2016's Suicide Squad (and rumours say that he will actually debut in 2016's Batman vs Superman: Dawn of Justice) as the Joker. Fans haven't seen much of Leto's take on the deranged foe of Batman yet, but what we have seen has definitely left fans divided about whether or not to expect great things from his version, but alas, this is something only time will provide resolution to.
However, Leto has seemingly been embracing the role VERY enthusiastically (reports from fellow cast and crew members say that the actor is method acting to get the role spot on, a lá The Dark Knight's Heath Ledger), and earlier today, he released a rather mysterious tease via his Twitter profile.
As you can see in the image above, Leto appears to be sporting the classic hat from Alan Moore's controversial, yet classic, Batman tale
The Killing Joke, as well as shorts (this ones a bit harder to tell, but if you look closely, you can actually see the pants end higher up on his legs) reminiscent of The Joker's outfit in the aformentioned graphic novel, the shirt has short sleeves, and could definitely be the classic Tourist shirt Joker donned in TKJ. The no-caption nature of the image definitely leaves it up to the viewers imagination though as to what it all actually means, but here is a comparison of the image with one of Moore's Joker:
Of course, the photo could always just be of Leto taking a hike and have nothing to do with the DCEU at all, no one other than Leto really knows for sure at this point, but the possibility of this being a hint at a certain Barbara Gordon & Joker moment is pretty exciting. We'll know for sure next year, either when
Batman vs Superman drops on March 25th, or when
Suicide Squad drops August 5th. Make sure to leave a thumbs up, and a comment in the section below.
