2016 is looking to be a great year for comic book movies, with it ushering the release of
Captain America: Civil War,
Doctor Strange, and
Batman vs Superman: Dawn of Justice, amongst many others. One such film is DC's
Suicide Squad, which is easily one of next year's most eagerly anticipated films to be released. But there is one aspect of the film that has fans divided - the look of Jared Leto's take on
The Joker.
In the film, The Joker will be taking on a very new aesthetic, as he is covered in tattoos, and sporting a grill. There are a number of fans who argue that the look isn't an issue, and that its The Joker's unpredictable and demented personality and nature that is essential to the character, or simply that they like the design anyway, whereas others argue that the design is simply a ridiculous look for the character.
Not ones to miss out on getting in on the current events when it comes to pop culture, the folks over at
How It Should Have Ended (commonly referred to as HISHE) have animated the criticism of the look, in their
Villains Pub series (which is essentially a spoof of their very own
Hero Cafe series). In the animation, Joker drops by the pub, receives criticism from the likes of
Loki,
Voldemort, and
Emperor Palpatine, we learn that a number of villains secretly watch
My So-Called Life, Voldemort discovers Netflix, and - well, I'll just let you see for yourself:
What do you guys think of HISHE's video? Funny, or do you find it offensive to the creative team behind the design? And what side are YOU on: are you for Joker's DCEU look, or are you against it? As always, let me know in the comments below, and don't forget to share and hit that like button!
