Mel Gibson Provides An Update On Where Things Stand With Him Directing SUICIDE SQUAD 2
The news that Mel Gibson (Hacksaw Ridge) might direct Suicide Squad came out of nowhere, and the filmmaker talks here about where things currently stand with the negotiations with Warner Bros.
The news that Mel Gibson is in talks to take the helm of Suicide Squad 2 came as a massive shock, but it also just so happens to be a very exciting thought for fans. We already know that talks are in the very early stages, of course, but now the actor and filmmaker has weighed in on exactly where things currently stand between him and Warner Bros.
Unfortunately, it's not the most positive of updates, but it definitely sounds like he's interested even if he hasn't signed on the dotted line just yet. "I don't know. I just met some guys about story points. It's not a done deal or anything. But it's just fun to shoot the bull when it comes to stories. And if we can elevate any kind of concept it's good. We'll see."
It's interesting the studio already has some story ideas in mind, and with any luck, Enchantress will be nowhere to be seen in that! Suicide Squad 2 currently has no release date, but assuming this deal closes relatively quickly, we'll hopefully hear more on that soon. Would you guys like to see Gibson at the helm of the DC Comics adaptation?
