THE SUICIDE SQUAD Actress Reveals Behind-The-Scenes Shots From Kaleidoscope's Belle Reve Cameo

The Suicide Squad featured a few cameos in Belle Reve, including Sean Gunn as Calendar Man, and the actress who played Kaleidoscope - Natalia Safran - has now shared some fun behind-the-scenes photos.

There were only a few cameos in The Suicide Squad, most of which we saw in Belle Reve. However, one that might have easily passed you by was Kaleidoscope, a relatively obscure character from the comic books who was played by actress Natalia Safran. The wife of veteran DC producer Peter Safran, she's also had cameo roles in Aquaman (Queen Rina) and Shazam! (Mrs. Sivana).

Now, with The Suicide Squad playing in theaters and on HBO Max, Safran has shared a series of behind-the-scenes photos from the movie putting the spotlight on her Kaleidoscope transformation.

If the character doesn't ring a bell, don't worry, as she's only actually appeared twice in the DC Universe in the pages of The New Adventures of Superboy issues #36 and #37. The villain was created by Chris Lawson and Nancy Mae Lawton, and is capable of conjuring up illusions using light (like, well, a kaleidoscope).

This obviously isn't a character with a lot of history on the page. As a result, The Suicide Squad marks her live-action debut, and while she only had a couple of lines in the movie, this was a real deep dive into DC lore by writer and director James Gunn.

Check out the work that went into bringing Kaleidoscope to life in the Instagram posts below:

It was cool they included her. Although if I had to nitpick, I wish they did a bit more with her appearance than just face+body paint. Kaleidoscope should look more visually interesting as a character.

I don't even remember her being in the movie at all. And she had lines? Huh. I guess when I go back and rewatch it (it does deserve a rewatch) I'll pay closer attention to the Belle Reve scenes. I swear I don't remember her.

@Gotham82 - if this is too much of a spoiler for you , i'd just read a few positive reviews and skip watching the film because you have gotten so much spoiled. She doesnt even have any lines besides ...WHOOOO AAHHHHHH and a fist pump . this barely even counts and its been out for almost 2 weeks if you watched it b4 release so take a few hrs out of your day so you dont get 2 upset over what you call a spoiler .
