Recent set photos from James Gunn's
The Suicide Squad have revealed that Steve Agee's role in the film requires him to wear a mo-cap suit. This of course comes after Deadline reported back in August 2019 that Agee would be providing the voice for
King Shark. However, the Tweets below seem to cast suspicion on whether that was ever the case or if Gunn decided to go with another cgi-brute to round out
Task Force X's ranks.
In case the Tweet above doesn't load or is deleted, Gunn replies to Agee's gratitude with, "
You’re welcome!! And you’re incredible in the movie... even though you might not quite be who people think you are. "
That certainly sounds as if Gunn is hinting that Agee isn't playing
King Shark after all, but that doesn't necessarily mean that the character doesn't appear in the film. Deadline could have simply mixed up which actors are portraying which characters.
The Suicide Squad, aka
Suicide Squad 2, is slated to hit theaters on August 6, 2021. Gunn wrote and directed the pic which features Margot Robbie as Harley Quinn, Viola Davis as Amanda Waller, Jai Courtney as Captain Boomerang, David Dastmalchian as Poka-Dot Man, and Daniela Melchior as Ratcatcher. Additionally, Idris Elba, John Cena, Storm Reid, Nathan Fillion, Peter Capaldi, Pete Davidson, Alice Braga, Sean Gunn, Michael Rooker, and Taika Waititi all have undisclosed roles.
