THE SUICIDE SQUAD Star John Cena Wears Peacemaker Suit For JIMMY KIMMEL Appearance; Check Out A New Clip

John Cena continues to wear his Peacemaker costume to promote The Suicide Squad, and he did so alongside James Gunn and Margot Robbie on Jimmy Kimmel Live last night. We also have a new clip from the film!

The Suicide Squad is fast approaching, and director James Gunn was joined by stars Margot Robbie and John Cena during last night's episode of Jimmy Kimmel Live

There's nothing here that's going to blow your mind. However, they do have an entertaining chat with guest host Anthony Anderson about everything from Robbie sleeping with a cardboard cutout of Cena in the room for two years to the craziest stunts they did on set, and Steve Agee donning a mo-cap suit to bring King Shark to life for the DC Comics adaptation.

Cena, once again dressed in his Peacemaker costume, also teases that HBO Max series. He actually recently made his return to WWE, and you can check out the explosive crowd reaction by clicking here.

The video below also features a new clip of Task Force X heading into action to "rescue" Harley Quinn.

"Welcome to hell — a.k.a. Belle Reve, the prison with the highest mortality rate in the US of A," reads the synopsis. "Where the worst Super-Villains are kept and where they will do anything to get out—even join the super-secret, super-shady Task Force X. Today’s do-or-die assignment? Assemble a collection of cons, including Bloodsport, Peacemaker, Captain Boomerang, Ratcatcher 2, Savant, King Shark, Blackguard, Javelin and everyone’s favorite psycho, Harley Quinn. Then arm them heavily and drop them (literally) on the remote, enemy-infused island of Corto Maltese."

"Trekking through a jungle teeming with militant adversaries and guerrilla forces at every turn, the Squad is on a search-and- destroy mission with only Colonel Rick Flag on the ground to make them behave...and Amanda Waller’s government techies in their ears, tracking their every movement. And as always, one wrong move and they’re dead (whether at the hands of their opponents, a teammate, or Waller herself). If anyone’s laying down bets, the smart money is against them—all of them."

The Suicide Squad will be released in theaters and on HBO Max on August 6th, 2021.

In that RED Camera feature Gunn teased that the camera was moving in n almost every shot…

@IronGenesis - Yeah I thought it worked really well in the trailer but I hope it isn't jarring in the actual movie.

@Kingdork - I have to admit…it was a little jarring and my head was slightly spinning in this clip.

And I’m never a problem with those type of shots.

I worry about someone like my friend. She can’t handle shots like the wild shots in doctor strange or Arial shots with spinning. She gets sick.

We will see what happens. Good thing we can watch this from home.

@IronGenesis - We'll see. Also this clip is clearly hacked to pieces and not representative of how the actual scene will play out in the final cut. So the flow might work better.

Really trying to make Peacemaker a thing

@SpideyPuffsMJ - Peacemaker is a cool character that hasn't really had a decent series since the original Charlton comics. I'd love to see all the Charlton characters revived in motion picture form of some kind.

@PapaSpank54 - I think Nightshade was a member of the Squad in the comics, wonder if she's being planned for a sequel.

@RingSlinger700 - I'd deadass pay to see the Squad and Captain Adam take on Major Force. Like, he's gone rogue and has his own little team of expendable villains or something.
Suicide Squad stories are a lot of fun, I gotta admit. You can do all kinds of crazy shit with the premise.

@PapaSpank54 - Absolutely. Would there be a way to introduce CA in a Squad film with the right execution? If done well that could lead to other characters like Plastique, Punch & Jewelee, and Wade Eiling becoming members of the team or becoming villains in Eiling's case.

@RingSlinger700 - well he'd a natural "babysitter" for the Squad for sure. You could have him be there to even the odds against Major Force or whoever as well as be able to reign in the Squad given none of them should be able to touch his level of power.

@PapaSpank54 - That could work too. I think it would be gutsy if Rick Flag doesn't make it out of Gunn's film so that future films might need replacement leaders like Captain Atom for instance, there's also Eiling, Bronze Tiger, or Will Smith's Deadshot if he's able to come back.

Going slightly off-topic, but I heard someone else online say that Plastic Man could work on the Squad as well since he started out as a criminal before getting his powers. He could basically be the POV character of a SS film where he's just a run-of-the-mill crook, not malicious but just in it for the money. It would be funny seeing how he interacts with the worst of the worst on the Squad, where he's just a safecracker or something like that before he gets his powers on a mission somehow.

@RingSlinger700 - that's another cool thing about the Squad: you could stick a hero character on there (like Bronze Tiger as you mentioned) as watchdog or a guy like Plas who could be paying off a societal debt. That way your villains seem even more villainous next to your hero like Plas, or maybe Plas actually has to play by their rules and it leaves him shook up!

@PapaSpank54 - Exactly, either scenario would be awesome.

Cena was funny in Trainwreck so I'm interested to see how his character is handled in this.

I really don´t care much about this movie but I´ll probably check it out because of the talent involved.

And Margot Robbie and those legs...
