THE WALKING DEAD's Jon Bernthal Being Lined Up For A Role In SUICIDE SQUAD?
The Walking Dead's Jon Bernthal seems like an obvious choice for a key role in David Ayer's Suicide Squad, especially after the two worked together on Fury. During a recent appearance at the Wizard World Tulsa Comic Con, the actor may have dropped some hints about his involvement...
Jon Bernthal made an appearance at the Wizard World Tulsa Comic Con this weekend, and it didn't take long for one fan to ask The Wolf of Wall Street and Fury star whether or not we'll see him reteam with David Ayer for 2016's Suicide Squad. According to Renegade Cinema, Bernthal heaped plenty of praise upon the filmmaker, and when specifically asked whether or not he would be interested in taking on a role in the movie, he replied with only: "I can’t talk about that right now." The moderator made a joke about him dodging the question, and the site adds that he then "went into repair mode and said that he didn’t mean it like that and that he loved working with David Ayer and would like to work with him in the future. However, he never denied that he was up for a role and never mentioned it again." That's all well and good, but why say he couldn't talk about it if he hasn't at least been approached or is in negotiations? As Ayer is currently rewriting the movie (to include the likes of The Joker and Lex Luthor by the looks of things), who knows who he'll play, but Deadshot seems like a good fit!
