Director Patty Jenkins is hard at work, having entered post-production for Warner Bros. and DC's next film, Wonder Woman. It seems Jenkins was able to take some time off, however, to attend the UK premiere of Suicide Squad, and the director took to Twitter soon afterward to offer up her own review on the critically-maligned film.
"Uh... You guys. Super confused. Just went to the premiere of #SuicideSquad. Hadn't seen it. It's great!" Jenkins wrote. "Not sort of great. GREAT! I mean... I loved it. So surprised by some reviews. I don't get it. I thought it was awesome. And NOT just because I'm in the DC world. Truly."
Now, some willl still probably dismiss this as Jenkins toeing the company line, but it's still nice to hear some positivity, despite the reviews painting Suicide Squad as a mess. It's probably safe to say that there's even more pressure on Jenkins' shoulders to deliver with Wonder Woman after the critical response. You can check out CBM's first official review here. Are you seeing Suicide Squad this Friday? Sound off below!
It feels good to be bad… Assemble a team of the world’s most dangerous, incarcerated Super Villains, provide them with the most powerful arsenal at the government’s disposal, and send them off on a mission to defeat an enigmatic, insuperable entity. U.S. intelligence officer Amanda Waller has determined only a secretly convened group of disparate, despicable individuals with next to nothing to lose will do. However, once they realize they weren’t picked to succeed but chosen for their patent culpability when they inevitably fail, will the Suicide Squad resolve to die trying, or decide it’s every man for himself?
