MAN OF STEEL Review: Next Step For The Superhero Genre?

Was Zack Snyder able to create a version that would make its predecessors proud? Does it take the genre to another level? In my opinion, both yes and no.

Man of Steel has been my most anticipated film of 2013. It is probably to almost everyone. It being a Superman film, it will always get the coverage and the hype. But does it live up to it? Was Zack Snyder able to create a version that would make its predecessors proud? Does it take the genre to another level? In my opinion, both yes and no. It’s certainly entertaining enough to please blockbuster moviegoers and it will also please comic book purists. But I don’t think it does well against the Christopher Reeve classics. Before continuing reading this, I should warn you that there will be spoilers in this review. So if you haven’t seen it yet, watch it and come back later.

Its a shame it didn't have the Superman magic, well not till the last half hour anyways.

Superman score was needed, don't even remember it had one in this?

Lois knowing Superman was Clark before he's even Superman totally sucked ass.

Great action sci-fi Matrix type movie, I hope second time I watch it I'll like it much more.

Cavil owned!

Still gotta be the movie of the year, was better than Iron man 3 and taht was a good movie, just wanted the Superman magic too!

Christopher Reeve classics sucks...movies for kids. Also score form previous Superman was not as good as MoS's IMO. Dooner's superman score is cool cause it's classic but that's it...Nowadays I would care for score like that.

I agree. MOS score is great!
but it doesn't do much for emotion.
